Re: if you could have a ten minute talk with Mcdermott...

"ISU men's basketball coach Greg McDermott officially signed his $650,000 contract last week, finalizing the deal that had been expected since his hiring in March.

The six-year contract has a base salary of $225,000, plus guaranteed outside income for the remaining $425,000. McDermott will receive a $50,000 raise in his base salary each year, as well as an unusual package of performance bonuses.

Any bonuses McDermott earns will be added to his salary the following year. There is a possible $250,000 in yearly bonuses, including $50,000 for an NCAA Tournament berth."

Re: if you could have a ten minute talk with Mcdermott...

    Good thread.

    1. What the hell did you do to the basketball attrition Gods?

    2. How will you change this team in the offseason as far as attitude?

    3. Do you read CF? If you don't, continue on that path.

    4. Dude, I love this program and think you are a great guy but for **** sakes we really need to start winning here. Kick your *** into gear. Demand perfection from practice. Don't allow any ********. None. Make sure that when you start offseason workouts that these guys understand that they are accountable. Make sure they understand that right now that they have no other option than to win.

I'd ask him to consider taking the players who will likely be returning next year, and try turning them over to the football strength & conditioning trainers for 4 months. I remember when Eustachy first got here, the first thing he complained about was how "weak" his new players were. That first year, we didn't do much. The following year, came agonizingly close to a national championship. Not saying that we'd make such an improvement this time, just saying that it's worth a shot.

Marquis seems out of breath way too much to be a D1 college player... Mac needs to condition his players much better!

Larry got so much crap for that during his first season to. I remember being in the stands when we would struggle "hey coach why don't you spend some time on the court instead of the weight room". 15-15, then 32-5. Tinsley benched like 175 when he came and left benching over 300 if I remember right. LE almost ran him outta practice the first day.

    This right here.
Get outta town. Do it now. You are not good. Any of these would work, and should get the message across to Greg. I cannot believe some people think we should give him more time. For what?
