    Road Conditions?

Anyone been on the roads as of late? Specifically I-35 from Ames to DSM?

DOT says normal, but also says stop-n-go traffic at Ankeny

    Re: Road Conditions?

Just got back from lunch. Went out around 11:45 and a half hour later the roads were slick. Take your time out there.

How is I-80 West of Des Moines? We're heading that way later today.

DOT shows 'difficult' and slow westbound traffic through DSM.

    Re: Road Conditions?

I was out a little while ago in Ankeny and they were not bad. I am guessing they will get really bad later, because it was all slushy stuff.

    Re: Road Conditions?

Just drove from Story City to Ankeny.

Interstate travel was going about 40 in the fast lane. No chance to pass as both lanes were just traveling side by side.

    Re: Road Conditions?

Fairly slick in Indianola, but nothing earthshattering.

As I was shovelling my driveway, I noticed that I wasn't so much scooping snow, as I was throwing it angrily into the yard.

I'm mad at the snow. I want to hurt the snow. I want to make it cry.

Just get a snowblower, and let the snow feel the teeth of a mechanical storm.

    Re: Road Conditions?

We were out in WDM earlier around Jordon Creek and over onto University near Valley West. Roads were getting pretty crummy and that was at 2:30. Didn't see any plows out working the roads which was the odd thing.

Watch it man there's a beverage here!

Most of this is my fault. In early January, my wife told me to go ahead and buy a snowblower since I'm clearing driveways and sidewalks at both our new and old houses. My reply? "It can't do this all winter".

No "most" about it. You should probably slap yourself silly. You've earned it.
