anybody got a broken shotgun for sale

im in grad school getting my mfa and need a gun for a project.

years ago my dad shot his thumb off with a model 61 16g remington/winchester (he wasn't sure which) self recoiling gun. this particular model was recalled because there was a defect which essentially allowed the gun to fire on its own once this piece broke internally.

anyway i am making somewhat of a commemorative piece for his missing thumb. if anyone has any gun similar to this that is broken and useless i would be happy to buy it from you. i will be tearing the gun apart and using various parts and reassembling them so the gun will be destroyed completely. i don't have much to offer as i am a poor grad student, but we could probably work something out.

i would prefer this gun to be as close to the actual model as possible, but it isn't vital. it must have the standard push button safety mechanism though. i have one gun that was given to me for this project only to realize later that it doesn't have a safety on it at all which seemed weird to me.

You can also try a Model 10...its also a 16 gauge remington/winchester mix. Those might be a little harder to find and more $$$

    That's what I was thinking.

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

Re: anybody got a broken shotgun for sale

i have a lot of memories involving my dad's missing thumb. its always a good laugh around xmas and thanksgiving.

two thumbs up of you thought the meal was delicious. dad you didn't like the meal?

when we were kids he was taking judo and knew all these pressure points. his nub seemed to work better than a regular thumb and he would torture my friends with it.

the piece is about memories really. memories created only because the accident happened and otherwise would not exist.

If you could then his thumbless dad wouldn't need a thumb monument built.

    Crap.

I used to have one of those; unfortunately, my gunsmith friend convinced me to destroy it for the very reason you mentioned. I would've just given it to you if I'd not done away with it already. I got it for $20 at a farm sale back in the day.

Mine was a 12 ga., but it would've served your purpose quite well.
