Re: Plane Hits Building in Austin

    Wow!!

Building is close to the airport. Only two from the building unaccounted for as of now. Hopefully there will not be more.

Eye witness on the live feed now...small single engine plane...

Wow, that picture makes the damage appear more extensive than I would have imagined. Didn't a small plane crash into another building in the last few years, and basically stick there without doing a ton of damage?

That what I thought as well. The eye-witness said the whole thing burst into flames when the plane hit. The building face was pretty much all glass, so the concussion from the explosion blew the windows out.

Re: Plane Hits Building in Austin

Hitting a little close to home for this Cyclone. That is the building we did all of our mortgage paperwork in when we bought our new home a couple of years back. It is also about 100 yards from the bar where the Austin Cyclone Club meets for all of our game watches.

I hope everyone made it out okay.

This story...at least as it is being told on CNN...is becoming crazier by the moment!

msnbc just tried to show a cherokee, so they put up a picture of a cirrus sr20. It even says cirrus can they not read, the two look nothing alike.

Little close to home for me as well.....back in '85-'88 my wife and I both worked for MCC when they were still in those buildings.

Same here, I work less than 2 miles from there and I also signed mortgage paperwork in that business park, although my realtor was in building II, and building III was the one that was hit.

Man possibly set his house on fire, then got in the plane and flew it into the building

Just saw that. The Drudge link says that he may have been targeting the IRS, which has an office in that building.

Re: Plane Hits Building in Austin

This is sounding more and more like the guy in Iowa City a couple of years ago that killed his family and then crashed his car into a bridge on I-80 killing himself. Except in this case he was unsuccessful killing his wife and daughter and used a plane to kill himself.
