    Dendy & McDermott BB

Was Dendy back in Ames? If so, why didn't he play? In the doghouse? Is he next year's non-returning player?

What's the real problem with McDermott BB? Forget all the excuses about player's injuries, players quitting, transfers, etc. etc. Is McDermott just over his head in the Big 12? After four years, I think his is way over his head and I really don't understand what is his style of basketball.

In my opinion, his recruiting classes across the board have been below average, specifically, his guard recruits. His teams looks like MoValley talent.

I would say that right now he is in over his head. The guy knows basketball, he just hasn't figured out how to do it in the big 12.

I was really pulling hard for Mac to turn things around this season, but as much as I like Mac, I don't know how anyone can not question his ability to get it done at ISU.

I agree...put Dendy in there. You can teach players lessons in other ways.

    Re: Dendy & McDermott BB

The guy has had one practice since returning from a week away from the team. Unless I am under estimating his abilities, I would guess that he needs to practice a couple times before I would feel comfortable putting him back in the game. He probably didn't even get a chance to learn what the game plan was.

If he doesn't play saturday, then there would be reason to start questioning it, but really...just because a player doesn't play in a game, doesn't mean that he isn't coming back or he's being punished. More than likely, he just wasn't ready for this game.

Its Dendy. His one job when getting into the game is to rebound.

So knowing the players on the other team and how to defend them doesn't matter at all. Knowing what kind of plays they are going to run on offense doesn't matter.

I guess that he could just hang out around the rim the whole time and wait either for the ball to hit him in the back of the head or for his guy to get a clean shot.

Maybe I'm wrong. but I think that preparation is important.

Because he missed a week of practice, without communicating his whereabouts or plans to the coaching staff...probably a good reason.

2-9 does not inspire too much confidence for the future when half the games are played at home.

Here is a mundane question - Does this team really need to practice to be on the court unless it is shooting free throws? We look discombubulated on offense even after practice.

We could have used Dendy the second half and we did not. So, it is a total guess that it was probably a small suspension for the past week adventures. That is fair to administer - if you do not keep your team informed as to your whereabouts.

Yeah, Mcd didn't watch any film on Oklahoma state at all. We held a team 6 below there season average, and shut down Anderson in the second half. How was Mac supposed to know that Muonelo would go crazy in the second half?

    Re: Dendy & McDermott BB

I thought our offense in the second half looked pretty crisp. With the exception of the normal meltdowns that for some reason happen for like 10 minutes a game.

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.
