    Duke of the Midwest....

Has to go to the 5th string coach.

"Multiple sources told ESPN.com that Iowa offered the job to Vanderbilt's Kevin Stallings, but he withdrew Monday morning. Iowa also spoke with Creighton's Dana Altman Sunday before he accepted Arkansas' job."

Lets see, what other big name guy can we get????? How about that guy from Butler.

Probably a good hire but it's funny how far off these fans were.

    McDermott:..... hahahahahahahaha

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Ouch that's going to hurt. Their ego is going to take a huge set back.

Wonder how good a coach he really is? His personality has to be an improvement over what they had.

True. I was a big Alford supporter. I wish he would have been there forever. As much as I hate Alford I hope he rocks the house at NMSU.

I haven't been to Iowa City on awhile. Maybe they didn't have a hotel suite nice enough for Majerus.

I stayed at the Marriott close to the Univ. of Utah campus in Salt Lake City when he was caoching there. Upon checking in I asked if Coach Majerus was home. The front desk people just smiled. I asked if this was the hotel where he lived and they said they couldn't comment on guests staying in the hotel.

I said, "Guest? Coach Majerus has LIVED here for years. I've heard it's because he doesn't like to make his bed". They all laughed but didn't say I was wrong. The next morning, as I was checking out, Majerus walked by the front desk.

Altman is on his way back to Creighton. LINK
