Re: Bill Fennelly @ 492 wins

I would be satisfied with a sweet 16 mark (not that I wouldn't take more), not sure if this team can repeat last year's performance in the NCAA. As good as this team has preformed, I'm still doubting that the Big 12 is anywhere near as strong as it was last year.

If I was a recruit, I don't know why you would not want to come to ISU to play WBB. New practice facility that rivals almost anything out there. A fan base that ranks in the top 5 in attendance year after year, Hilton Coliseum, Bill Fennelly, a winning record over all teams in the Big 12 except Baylor since BF came to Ames, you are going to make the NCAA at least 3 of every 4 years and out of those you are going to make the second round 80% of the time and the Sweet 16 40% of the time.

The only thing I could see is that this is still a ag and engineering university, and truth is that education is more important to women player than it is to men.

I am actually starting to think that we'll end up in a favorable enough seed to make an elite eight repeat a legit possibility. Far from a for-sure thing of course, but not an insane notion either.

AGLS is smaller than most of the other colleges, and let's not forget about that little ol' Design college that attracts so many of our women (to say nothing of multiple large Human Sciences and LAS programs that have extremely high proportions of women).

The male-female ratio at ISU last year was 54-46. That's pretty normal.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Bill Fennelly @ 492 wins

Lets go for 500 then. We've got 6 games left in the regular season. Lets win at least 5 of those. Then to the Big 12 tourney where we need to be able to at least get to the championship game. If all goes as planned, 500 by either the end of that tourney or in the first couple rounds of the next one in march.

I honestly think we only lose one, either @Nebby or @Okie State.

It has unofficially been :) Our W-L record at Hilton is really good.
I rather wait until he retires to change the name and I don't mind waiting for a long time. Although knowing that BF is down-to-earth, it wouldn't change is attitude, probably like Pat Summit when the arena was named "Summit Arena"

Depends on who the losses are to and how hot we are at tourney. Looking at current projections(Creme and Collegerpi.com brakets), one or two of the 2 seeds and all four of the 3 seeds are up for grabs. I would say a strong finish to conference play (4-2) or better(keep in mind, we are competing with 4 big 12 teams for the 2 and 3 seeds), and strong showing at the tourney (make it to the final), would land us a 2. Other factors to consider, this year they are looking at the non-con a little closer according to Palm, so that could bring us down. Also, a win over Nebby either there or in KC would definitely boost the resume. Also, with so many Big 12 teams, we could move up or down on the seeding depending on the need for bracket balance(no teams in same conference meeting before sweet 16, if possible. According to Creme/Palm, that means ISU could move up or down 1 seed just for placement. Fortunately, with most of the Big 12 teams being so tight, they will be around the same seeding, so that will bode well for ISU to be at a deserved seed or higher, because our competition(other seeds) will most likely be lower seeds 5, 6 or 7 for Second round. It looks as though Big 12 teams will move up to 2 seeds just to accommodate the rules when the Big 12 is so bunched around the 2/3/4 seed level.

That sounds promising. I hope that we don't drop to a four seed because I'd love to see Lacey cap off her career with a deep post-season run.
