I wonder if the fact that their product sucks has anything to do with it?

Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.

Based on financial status, there are very few things that are not a "train wreck" these days.

....NFL, Southwest, Google? and that's about it.

But the NBA's problems are not just for "these days". According to the article: "the league was projecting a loss of $400 million this season, after annual losses of about $200 million in the previous four years." Four years ago the economy was fairly good.

True. I'm not sure if anyone can control their spending anymore? Govt, corporations, pro sports leagues, the Olympics... you name it.

Everyone wants the best of everything and they want it immediately, but it all costs so much money. Every event HAS to outdo the one before it. This Winter Olympics has to provide better venues, Olympic Village, opening ceremony, etc than the one before it. This year's NBA all star weekend HAS to be better than last years, and so on.

There may not be NFL football in two years. The NBA probably either?

    I don't dispute the mediocre product. I don't like NBA, - I was just stating a general fact. I

I would be utterly shocked if there were not a lockout in the NBA.

The NBA is easily the worst professional sports organization, IMO, and it's not even close. I probably haven't sat to down and watched an NBA game 5+ years.

Sit down and watch one, I think the things are much better than they were 5 years ago.

Why do you say this? You're ranking it above the NHL and MLB? I disagree wholeheartedly.

I agree. The last couple of years have seen a vastly improved NBA. I'll actually watch some games now, especially around playoff time.
