    Bolte

Got to see the game on Saturday, and all I can say is wow. Everyone played very well, but I couldn't help but notice that Kelsey just smothered on defense.

She deflected several passes and blocked a couple shots, but one play in particular stands out, where she blocked a shot, stole the ball and then sank a three on the other end.

I saw the OU game, and the Freshmen are playing at a different level even from that game.

I hope Kelsey can keep up that level of play. She seems to be a little "streaky". We will need her senior leadership next season.

I did not see the game but what the hell happened to the 6'8 inch chick that is supposed to be the best ever?

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

The Clones played the "3-headed" monster defense on her - Zimmerman, Poppens and Primms smothered her with each touch. After two consecutive games with triple doubles, she had 10 pts, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. They really managed her touches all game long.

    Re: Bolte

Bolte is one of my favorites, she has an athletic bounce in her step that makes her style of play fun to watch. She sets a great example for the others by running her tail off to get back on defense. She gives me hope for next year.

My real question is this, is having the best point guard in the league in Lacey the reason we are doing so well? I hope everyone enjoys and acknowledges the caliber of play we have at that position.

    Re: Bolte

Bolte was awesome, but my player of the game had to be Poppens. She got 14 rebounds against Griner. Rebounding is all about heart, desire, and who wants the ball the most? And 14 rebounds against that giant is unbelievable.

BG is good, but Prins is just as tall (yesterday she actually looked taller) and Prins can be a threat from outside, where BG is one dimensional.

I've said we are very hard to beat when Good Bolte shows up. She's shown up to most of our conference games, and that's a big reason we're in the position we are in.

She'll be just disgusting next year if she can get comfortable going off the dribble.

She was guarded well, but basically all she did was stand under the basket, and then hack at an ISU player once the play had passed her by.

She did worse than her stats indicate.

    Re: Bolte

Kelsey is finally playing with a sense of urgency. Her stats show it. I was impressed yesterday how Aus was the fourth scorer in double figures behind Amanda, Kelsey and Anna. The best play of the day yesterday was when Kelsey threw it into Aus in front of Kim Mulkey and Aus drained a three from 25 feet.

BF calls her the best player in the league, not just best PG. He also says the team does what she tells them to do, and he does what she tells him to do.

    Re: Bolte

Can't help but chuckle reading the post on "sense of urgency" I watched the second practice of Kelsey's career. After a play BF yelled at her "Kelsey, your sense of urgency has GOT TO IMPROVE!" "You're not playing Woodbury Central or some other podunk 1A school, you're in the Big 12 now!" This year at Homecoming while watching practice he yelled the same thing at Z only substituted 3A and Carlisle or Nevada for Woodbury Central. I told BF after practice he needed to get some new material!!

If Iowa plays Iraq I wear a turbin to the game!

I laughed really really hard when that happened. That shot was ridiculous, I don't think her feet even left the ground. She just kinda winged it, and *bam* swish. I love this team.
