I didn't realize they were that high. We need a national playoff for boys BB.

In no way shape or form do we need a national hs playoff. Iowa does it right and allows everyone a chance to make it. I also like the fact that Iowa doesn't allow teams to play outside of the boardering states

So you're telling me you wouldn't watch the top 16 high school teams play each other in a tournament? I think it'd be awesome.

Sadly the rest of the country (or at least about 80%) doesn't care about wrestling at all.
At least the basketball would draw a crowd.

Re: Ames High #4 in USA Today BB Poll

Are they really the 4th best team in the country? I've seen 2 games and they are good but I don't know if they are that good. I saw them play the team from Illinois that's a 4a team and are 17-4. Illinois has 6A teams right?

    Maybe I'm wrong.

HS BBall does not deserve national rankings, let alone a national tournament. These kids get coddled from day 1, they don't need any help.

No Waukegan was considered one of the top teams in the top division of IL basketball. (Colvin's team won the title last year..just FYI)

I guess 4A is the biggest in basketball. I could swear I've heard of 6A schools in chicago.

Am I the only one who thinks its funny you compared watching some of the best high school basketball teams in the country play to grab- ***. And then made a comment about how Iowa high school wrestling would be better. I would compare wrestling to grab- *** before I would compare basketball, cause they actually do grab each other's *****.

Also, Iowa high school wrestling versus the rest of the country would be an awful idea, because Iowa would get destroyed. Iowa COLLEGE wrestling is where many of the best come to wrestle, but Pennsylvania and Ohio are both ahead of Iowa in high school wrestling and it's not even close. Sorry.

Other than those 2 points, great post.

I would agree to a 64-team tournament only if there was a play-in game for spot #64. And you could not call it a play-in game.
