    Nike Screw-up?

I was searching Ebay for ISU stuff and found these shorts...looks like Nike screwed up when they were making them and put the wrong logo on them...

    Re: Nike Screw-up?

That's very interesting that Iowa State would allow such a product. Their trademark and brand standards are laid out thoroughly and go so far as to explicitly state that colors of other in-state institutions are not to be used in merchandising or publication (black is to be kept to a minimum, purple is never to be used).

I wonder if this is part of a general contract with Nike, which gives the company a bit of free range to create products that are common to their line. At any rate, Nike should not be shocked when they have boxes full of this when they end production.

I can't believe they are gettin away with this. That is like putting a Ferrari logo on a Yugo car.

    Disgusting...

    Re: Nike Screw-up?

ISU Foundation should throw a small fit about this with Nike before that product is used to show that ISU does not sell apparel well. No ISU fan is going to wear those hidious rags.
I apologize in advance to those of you/us with frugal grandparents. When those things hit the rack for $5 or less you know they are going to arrive on the front step as a gift for some random holiday.

    Re: Nike Screw-up?

I wonder if this was planned to be this way and they are targeting the whole "divided household" where somehow Cyclones and Hawkeyes are co-habitating and in many cases reproducing.

I think that's part of the problem. All Hawkeyes should be sterilized when they're born.

    Problem solved.

I think an ISU logo looks good on anything, including black and gold. Much better than the hawk head or whatever they call that thing.

    Re: Nike Screw-up?

I've seen similar black products for ISU at Scheels recently and was speechless that ISU approved the products.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

Shorts foir all seasons. What a find. You can walk down any street in Iowa and be neutral. These are like Dana Altman shirts - BlueJay oin the front and a Pig Suey on the back. Awesome.
