    Buckley & Christopherson

Curious to see what everyone thinks about Christopherson playing 3-4 times as many minutes as Buckley. We all know Scotty is playing through mono but I'm wondering why he is playing so many minutes when we have a capable backup in Buckley. I really thought we played really well last night with DG, Colvin, and Buckely on the floor together. SC was obviously struggling (to be expected) but he was still in there with the game on the line.

Is anyone seeing things that Scotty is doing that Buckley isn't?

A few things that stood out to me over the last 4 games:

    CU
    SC: 0-7 shooting, 27 minutes
    Buck: 0-0, 8 mins

    Baylor
    SC: 2-6 shooting, 29 minutes
    Buck: 1-2, 5 mins

    K-State
    SC: 3-10 shooting, 28 minutes
    Buck: 0-0, 9 mins

    Missouri
    SC: 0-3 shooting, 20 minutes
    Buck: 1-3, 8 mins

    Combined
    SC: 5-26 (19%), 104 minutes
    Buck: 2-5 (40%), 30 mins

SC had an awful game last night, just awful.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

Scotty really isnt helping, he needs to be shutdown and get healthy. This season is lost anyway might as well get Buck the time even if we have 3 point guards on the floor.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

Great stats, it really put things in perspective. Now I'm sure that some poster named *g-cycl**e will come along soon in post in there that SC has been sick and his performance has been great when you take that into account. Me? I think there are some real answers that are needed here. No college kid is going to take himself out even if he's sick. Why does McD not see this and continues to run this kid out there for extended minutes when he's obviously not producing? Oh well, who cares, McD is the right guy for this job *wink* *wink*.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

Buckley should have been in there closing out the game. He was a big part of us staying in the game....creating....getting in the lane, (Not as much as Colvin) ...but he didn't hurt us at all.

Scott was chucking up threes....and missing everything. Not to mention on the defensive end....how many times did I see his man get an offensive rebound? Never putting his butt on somebody. It was driving me nuts last night. (I under stand that he looked tired/sick....but why didn't our coach see that?) Buck was doing those little things.....and deserved more minutes. Him and CC "got it" last night. Scott seems to stand around the perimeter too much.....CC and Buck got in the lane and created. CC did both, created for himself and had great assists....and Buck had nice passes that led to points. DG and Scott did NOT do these things last night.

    Fix that for you.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

I think that more playing time should go to Buckley and Colvin. Bench SC and DG. They have not played well. That is a big reason we have not done well.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

Buckley has also been a much better ball handler.

    Buckley 20 assists, 11 turnovers.

    Christopherson 26 assists, 32 turnovers.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

I feel for SC because you know he's trying as hard as he can, but it energy and strength just aren't there. I think it's best for everyone involved that Buckley gets SC's minutes until he's healthy.

    Re: Buckley & Christopherson

If I was Buck I would be so gone next year. He's either not good enough to play here or isn't getting the time he deserves(my theory is the latter). He can find PT somewhere else. I'm not suggesting that he leaves...I'm predicting it.

I've thought this all along too. If there's one guy who will leave this off season, it's Buckley. I'd hate to see that because he's a good player and seems to have a good attitude.

Thanks, I missed that one. Fixed it. Buck was 1-3 shooting last night.

Intangibles is what I really should have said. I mean, big deal if it was only one assist on the stat sheet. He created more and gave some of our players openings just because of his drive in the lane.

You could say the same about Buckley last night.

Again, Scott....doesn't do these things for the squad.

I really don't know why he doesn't play more. Seems productive and a good role player. Somehow ended up in Gmacs doghouse.
