    Deadliest Catch fans?

Phil Harris (Captain of the Cornelia Marie) suffered a stroke today. I'm not too surprised, considering his smoking and stress of the fisherman lifestyle, but damn. Luckily they were in port and not hundreds of miles off the coast, but still sucks. Hope he gets through it alright. One of my favorite "characters" of the show.

He'll probably drink some coffee, thump himself in the chest a few times, and go right back out.

    Re: Deadliest Catch fans?

I'd say he is one of my favorite characters on that show too. Last year when he had the blood clot in his lung, I think he was told not to go fishing anymore out to sea. He is probably pretty darn lucky it happened in port. Should help the ratings for next years show, I just hope he pulls through it.

Oh god. Expect SplitIdentity to also be upset, Phil is the man, and Sig is the only possible savior.

Thats sad to hear, but I am not at all suprised. That guys was a ticking time bomb. I felt like I was going to have a stroke just watching him.

Sig was having health issues too last year. Don't know if they ever mentioned him finding out anything but he was having some pretty major chest pains or something last year during a couple shows.

He had a blood clot in a lung. If there's more health hampering to him, I'm going to be sad.

It appears "Deadliest" refers not to the threat of the sea but the threat of no sleep and four packs of heaters a day.

Not to mention the all-coffee/eggs/bacon/sausage diet.

    Redbull too.

While on live TV, Ford used a vulgar term to describe a private part of the female anatomy, adding that he was “happily married” and “got more than enough to eat at home.”

By far the best show of TV. I can't get over how crazy these guys are. Their diets are a heart attack waiting to happen.

    Re: Deadliest Catch fans?

I agree this show is awesome, but as everyone else has said am not surprised. I don't know why he doesn't listen to his son and get some healthier habits. I have never seen someone live off Red Bull like that guy.

    Re: Deadliest Catch fans?

The new season usually airs on tv starting in March or April iirc.

It's too bad for Phil but as has been stated here several times, it's no suprise. None of those captains do a good job of taking care of themselves. Phil is one of my favs as well.
