Keep in mind, Chris, that a 16+% response to an online survey is outstanding!

i agree anyone not wanting espn thursday game is an idiot, period. anyone that doesnt like the band is also sorry... college football has to have a band, has to. i love the sound of it before the game, during, etc... it makes for the atmosphere...
i would have loved for the survey to include something about the scoreboard, and speaker system!

I love surveys that dont highlight the bad area's, stats can be shaped very easily. Does ISU advertise much in the eastern side of the state, did a lot of people in eastern Iowa get this survey?

I believe it was sent to all ticket purchasers, assuming the ticket office had an email address for the customer. I got one and participated in the survey, too easy.

So those who bought for multiple people (like families) got one survey for their multiple tickets, and all the students and\or younger alums (who typically buy individually) got one per ticket.

Explains the thursday gap a bit.

I love the fact that the Athletic Dept is reaching out to the Season Ticket Holders to see what they prefer.

I prefer 6 pm KO's and Saturday games to start the Season, but if the majority of the Season Ticket Holders enjoy that, I can accept that and support those decisions.

I'm shocked at the Thursday response. I can see if ESPN was in town but there's no way in my eyes that high a percentage of people like Thursday games. This whole survey has to be skewed to people living within 30 miles of JTS. No way family's or people living outside an hour away from JTS respond favorably to Thursday games.

Thats kind of what I'm thinking. I would have like to see a qustion:
How many miles do you drive to attend games (one way).
    A. ~30
    B. ~50
    C. ~75
    D. 75+

Not really, the student percentage is still what it is, age could still be a factor. You are having a really hard time seeing that your preference is not the popular one aren't you?

I am well outside of the 30 mile radius and make that home opener a must attend. I absolutely love not having to wait until that Saturday on the first week and like Chris pointed out in the article, it is usually the only big show in the state that day.

Sorry Chris, I voted for the 11:30 game on Saturdays if no afternoon slot is available. The main reason being that by the time the night games are over and done and we make the drive home it is midnight. doesnt always work with a 2 year old. Also have you been in the parking lot at 5:30 PM on a staurday afternoon on Nov. 26th? It is usually brutal and the stands aren't much better and are freaking cold at 930 when the game is over. At least the sun would hopefully be shining on us for most of the tailgate and the game if kickoff is 1130. Just my opinion.

People around me at football games come from out of town (Marion, Riceville, Indianola) and make the opening game on Thursday night, but they all tell me how tough it is to be there.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - no matter how wrong they may be.
