ISU in 2nd in Big 12

This is becoming the North show. Nebraska in first, ISU in second. When was the last time you saw two North teams at 1 and 2 in the conference (especially Nebraska?)? It isn't a coincidence that those two teams have the fewest overall loses in the conference.

I'm starting to believe that ISU might beat everyone left on their schedule, except Nebraska. Two of the three toughest teams remaining have both lost to teams we've beat. Further, OSU hasn't been playing as well lately and Baylor is at home.

Hopefully there will be a healthy sized crowd on hand for the Baylor game. Look for a fun battle in the post between Prins and Greiner.

And yet you'll still hear that the north is a weaker division than the south. Nevermind that, I believe, both teams have picked up big road wins on top ranked southern teams.

The north is weaker. 5 of the 6 south teams are ranked where only 2 of the 6 north teams are ranked. It just so happens that so far this year the two north teams are the best in the conference.

It is so nice that a year that was supposed to be borderline is now turning into a really great year.

As a whole, the North is weaker than the South. After Nebby and ISU, it falls off pretty sharply. In the South, OSU, OU, UT, Baylor, and A&M are all ranked teams.

I know, I just hate it because a lot of people take it as Nebraska and ISU being weaker teams, which is clearly not the case.

ISU has only lost to one south team so far this year, out of four games. That is impressive. Let's make it 5-1 against them southern girls.

Why not? We beat them in every sport in Lincoln?

We certainly have a chance. The lost against Nebby was during the beginning of Big 12 season and it looked like the team (given how young they are) haven't got used to the level of talents, play and speed. Now the team seemed to have adjusted quite well.

I think if any Big 12 team can it's us. In conference play no one else, including A&M and Baylor, have been able to keep Nebraska under 60 points. No one else has come as close to beating them as we did (8 pt spread), in fact Baylor is the only other team able to keep the spreed within single digits.

I just really don't think that we will win, but I would love to be wrong.

ISU should have beat NU in Ames. They can do it in Lincoln.

Re: ISU in 2nd in Big 12

I also question the "except Nebraska" language. NU will certainly, deservedly, be favored, but, a win in Lincoln is not out of the question. Nebraska has outstanding players at post and point and is playing well as a team and limiting mistakes, but, they do not "out talent" us across the board.

The conference season is only half over, but, I'm inclined to agree that the north is thin past the top two. Even so, we need to play well to beat anyone and no game is a sure W.

Given our graduation losses, truly an amazing job by Fennelly to integrate all the new players this well. I thought just returning to the NCAA would be great. We have almost locked that up and are playing for seed now.

I do think we need to be honest that being in the North and only playing one game against the South teams is a factor in our record/standing. In fact, I hope we don't get "too much" respect nationally that leads to a high NCAA seed that will be tough to live up to. I like us right around the 16-20 level, 5 seed. BF and the girls need to stay hungry and focussed.
