Why we have a Great Coach

Maybe it is a stretch - but watching the Super Bowl reminded me of some of the big play calls our Coach made this year coaching to try and win, the Saints Coach did just that and in time with some more playmakers and the same will to win, the Cyclones will win a lot of games.

There's more where that came from with Paul Rhoads, i'm just excited for the next (insert whatever amount) of years under CPR, I really hope he'll be here for awhile. I can't believe I just watched the last football game for quite sometime. How long until Iowa State kicks off? Ugh. I'm looking forward to the Spring Game already....I want to be tailgating RIGHT NOW!

That turnover video and the locker room video will never get old or played too many times on my computer. Love it.

EDIT: and i think the Benny Hill music just makes it more entertaining. Adds some humor to it.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Re: Why we have a Great Coach

You are 100% right! CPR made the kind of gutsy play calls that you need to win at ISU (or even Oklahoma, Stoops likes the kind of moves CPR made too).

That fake punt at Nebraska was just huge. What a call and necessary to win the game.

I'm relieved to see this posted in the football forum. I agree. Paul Rhoads = Excellent head coach. The guy hired a great staff and isn't incompetent during games. He can also recruit.

I still didn't like the onside kick against Iowa but during the course of 12-13 games you can't agree with everything a coach does.

At the time, I didn't like that call either, but after watching a similar a decision in the Super Bowl from a Coach that was trying to will his team to a win - I like it. Who knows, you get that ball, maybe its a close game.

I liked the call. It didnt work but I liked it and I think it was a good call. The game proved that we couldnt move the ball on Iowa, I think it was a great attempt at putting extra points on the board and getting momentum, it just didnt work. We actually shouldve got it but one of our guys didnt grab it and blocked instead, but wouldve been another kick anyways since it didnt go 10 yards.

Exactly, I think it was Schnigdall who must have been a designated blocker but the ball came right to him. Had he seen it it would have been ours and maybe that propels us to a better performance. Maybe not, but who knows. I like seeing us do stuff like that trying to win games instead of trying not to lose, something we have seen way too many times.
