    Broadcast Question

My brother and I were wondering why there always seems to be a delay one way or the other between TV broadcasts and radio. There are times I'd rather listen to Walters and Heft than the TV broadcasters, most recently during the Baylor game. Can anyone shed light on this?

You can thank Janet Jackson's Super Bowl malfunction

    Re: Broadcast Question

    Radio
105.1 does not use the FCC delay
100.3 does (so 100.3 will be 5-7 seconds behind 105.1)

    TV
Most delay of 2-3 seconds or less is due to satellite bounce
Satellite receivers will normally be 1-2 seconds behind cable
Any delay longer than that is satellite bounce PLUS the FCC delay

That's good to know. I usually listen to 100.3. The TV announcers don't quite give the level of excitement John Walters does.

correction: it wasn't the Super Bowl that malfunctioned.
