It is unbelievable the amount of knowledge that Crabtree has about college football recruiting.

Love listening to Crabtree - has great insight into recruiting!

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I agree, however it is his job. If I devoted 50 hours or more a week to it I would have a ton of knowledge too. It is amazing to us because we haven't had the time to develop the relationships and contacts needed for that kind of knowledge.

I hear what you are saying, but I don't think I could do what Crabtree does at the level he does it at even if I devoted 100 hours or more a week to it.

Think about all the colleges out there and all the players that were recruited. Let's say there were just 100 D1 colleges out there (I know there are more, but for the sake of argument, bear with me), and that each college signed 25 athletes, that is 2,500 athletes to keep track of and get to know so you can give an intellingent answer when asked about a specific case.

Doesn't sound too easy to me.

I didn't mean it was easy but I bet he couldn't come into my job and do what I do right now. That is all I am saying. In no way do I think it is easy. I just think putting time in and really focusing on what you are doing can make you successful in that field. Also, not saying things you aren't sure of is key.

To me, the point is that Crabtree actually does put in the work. There are folks in his line of work who don't, and it shows.

Of course when someone in Iowa asks him to come on the show to talk about the Clone and Hawk recruiting classes, he probably brushes up on their classes to talk about them same as he does for the Huskers when he is asked to do one of their radio broadcasts. I'm not saying he couldn't do that with any team off the cuff, but I'm sure he is prepared to go on a radio or television show with the information he believes he will need.

If its that easy, you'd think everyone would like a crack at it. And maybe he could do your job quicker and better than you. Sounds like you don't respect his ability that much.

Nope, he memorizes everything and only looks at everything once.

I'm not saying I don't have respect for the guy. Where did that come from? I also said it isn't an easy profession. I would however like a crack at doing that for a living just as I would like my own talk radio show. I am just saying that if you putt the effort and work in, you will be successful, just like any other job.

He is on 810 out of KC frequently and they always comment on him knowing all these recruits without any cheat sheets in front of him.

Well he has to have that. There are thousands of kids out there some with similar names at the same position. You would have to have all that. I know I would need one of them.

Do you mean, like anyone from scout. IMO Rivals beat Scouts *** with the exception of McShay who I don't see being associated with Scout very long.
