    Chanse Creekmur

...from Marshalltown is being talked about at Minnesota as a possible recruit to fill Royce White's vacated basketball scholarship. Can anyone tell me what they know about him? Did ISU or Iowa recruit him? I know he was Santa Clara committed at one time, but that changed, evidently.

    Thanks...

    Re: Chanse Creekmur

This came up a while back when he was being talked about as a possible football recruit but then the discussion ended. He was also pseudo-committed to play BBall at Iowa at some point. I don't know what transpired after all the talk in the fall.

    Re: Chanse Creekmur

He originally commited to Iowa. Then he backed out of that to go to Santa Clara. Then Iowa State came in and recruited him for football. Sounding like he might go back to basketball. Arizona state is also pretty high on him.

I know his dad wears an earing in each ear, is a grown man, and not a pro sports athlete. It weirds me out.

Originally committed to Iowa. 6'7", very good catch and shoot guy, fairly long. Defensively will be a liability, (Lateral movement wise).

My son-in-law who lives in M-town said he heard Creekmur was walking on at ISU for football.

A lot of people were saying that a month or so ago but I don't think that's the case now.

    Re: Chanse Creekmur

I watched him play, and he didnt standout that much, I watched harrison barnes and he just toyed with the players, yes he is the number one recruit and playing against high school athletes when he is on a superior level is alot different, but creekmur in the game i watched had like 14 points, didnt play defense all that great, is a great jump shooter, i just dont see him being effective in the big 12 thats all

    Re: Chanse Creekmur

I would much rather see him play football than basketball. He tries to do too much on his own in basketball and, as state before, doesn't exactly have great defense.

Everything that's been said has been pretty true. Around the end of the high school football season it was all about football. However, basketball is pretty much his favorite. I don't know if he's really decided.

I have not seen creekmur play - just read things in the papers and what I have heard. I think he is a good athlete in alot of sports. I saw Dorr play quite a few times in H.S. and down at state tournement. He isnot a show to see, But at the end of the night he has 18-20 pts & 10 rbs. Played within himself - I think if he gets another year to be at ISU - he might surprise some people. Probly wont come close to starting but will always be there pushing, Iowa starting two who dorr can play very well against.
