"up to 2.5 hour battery life" would concern me, as that estimate for most computers is about how long itll last with the brightness turned all the way down, the wifi turned off, and the processor turned down to low power mode (so slower). My computer lasts about 5 hrs, and was in the 'up to 10 hours'

Also, athlon processors tend to run a bit hot, and burn battery quickly, in my experience.

Edit- though for the price... its not bad. Depends what your uses are for it.

Seems ok for the price. I'm not sure about the processor. I haven't done any research on AMD processors lately. Hard drive is big enough, ram is decent for the price, etc. The only weird thing is that the network card is b/g. I would think it would be N capable but that's not a very big deal for 90% of the public.

    Another good alternative

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834146705&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction

little smaller hard drive but everything else is better. Also doesn't include a webcam.

It is only a 6 cell battery. usually they are 8-12.

I would look to see how much a 12 cell battery is. Otherwise not to bad of a deal.

    Newegg.com - lenovo G530(4151A2U) NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-core T4400(2.20GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 3GB Memory DDR2 667 160GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW Intel GMA 4500M - Laptops / Notebooks

That does seem like a good deal and it looks like it does have a webcam, or did I read the spec wrong? Only .3MP but I am not sure what standard is on them. Is a Lenovo a solid brand, I hear people talk about them as if they are in another class at times and don't know much about them. I am sick of the build of both HP and Dell, with the travel I do it seems that the screws are always popping out and I don't treat them rough at all.

Re: Is this a good laptop to buy from staples (LINK)

I believe Lenovo took over IBM's laptop division a few years ago but I don't know much about their quality.

I have a dell laptop for home and a toshiba work laptop and both have been pretty solid. The only issues I've ever had with a laptop is a dell battery. Oh and the Dell has a tendency to show fingerprints.
