What ever happened to Darius Stevens?

I remember we were recruiting him really hard and he was supposed to be an elite talent, like a 4 star recruit. If i remember correctly didnt he go into another sport. Anybody have any info on this kid now?

"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. Im going to approach all 12 games this way: Were going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, were going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I dont know, and youre right, I wont put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12

He would be a crowd favorite. Hard to believe if he's good enough to play at the DI level that ISU wouldn't give him a shot.

I think Mac would be a good fit for him. Whether he's "got it" or not, we should find a spot for him on our roster. He can't be too bad considering the schools which are looking at him.

Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.

The article said he does better in free flowing systems over tightly regimented offenses so I don't think Mac would be a very good fit at all.

I would love to see Darius as a Cyclone. His Dad, Barry, is one of my all time favorite cyclones. Barry had one of the sweetest jumpers I've ever seen. It sounds like from the article that he has found a home at that new school and hopefully things will work out for him at ISU or elsewhere.

What makes you think we have a well regimented offense. It looks like it breaks down all the time. The regiment stands around too much.

Re: What ever happened to Darius Stevens?

I don't know if he is a Big 12 caliber player or not.

But I do know that if I end up seeing him play at Marquette or ND it will sicken me...similar to the feeling I will have when seeing Harrison Barnes play at UNC.

Ronnie Harris and Barry Stevens were probably the two most key players in Johnny bringing ISU BB to prominence...they were the beginning.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Re: What ever happened to Darius Stevens?

I would rather give a kid like him a scholarship knowing what his family did for the program rather than someone like LA Pomlee who we all knew would never be a contributor for ISU.

I'd like to see an offer, out of respect for what his dad did here. He sounds like a decent player too.

Sorry guys, but he's not high major....was built way out of proportion by posters on this board.

From a guy that thought Wes Eikmeier was a high major guy!

I still wouldn't be shocked if he turned out to be a good basketball player. Great handle on the ball, good shooter...quick feet...he's got all the tools.

And the day Mac starts handing out "Well, your dad was really good for us, so here's your scholarship offer" he should be fired.
