    Friday Night Lights

Anyone been watching this show on NBC? I orginally thought it was just going to be some corny spin-off of the movie but after the first few episodes I got hooked. Last night might have been possibly the best episode this season and the previews for next week look to be another good one. The acting has been surprisingly really good to the point I'd hope the show and some of the actors wins some awards.

I've even gone out to NBC's website from time to to and watched some of the deleted scenes and behind the scenes interviews that put some of the characters and episodes into better perspective.

I'm not sure last night was the best episode, yet it was very good.

The Mrs. and I are also hooked. Great series!

It's one of my favorites...this show was actually on the chopping block early in the season.

I think the actor in the wheelchair (forgot his name) is from Omaha if I remember correctly.

I think I read that somewhere too.

We did predict he'd be on the coaching staff at some point during the football season after he was injured.

I did especially like Riggins and the mom from next door getting together. Nice play by him. Also, she's the leading actress in 40 Year Old Virgin.

    Re: Friday Night Lights

I just get a kick out of Sarasen being the dorky backup QB that's now the starter and dating the coach's daughter. Always some funny dorky moments with him cuz the kid has no self-confidence at times and is always having to get advice from people. And his buddy Landry is the character that's the nerdy kid at school and doesn't really know it. Last night was funny "Hey Tyra, how are you?" Tyra says "I think I'm going to go now." I will predict those 2 will hook up or something after last night's happenings though. And Riggins and the hot single mom next door is an interesting development too.

Yeah, often times watching the show I feel embarrassed for Matt. Fun character for sure.

Like when he got caught by the coach's wife buyin condoms? Lol! Then I love it how coach find his daughter's sexy underwear she hid in the bathroom and comes out into the kitchen "honey, did you have a surprise planned for me this evening?"

I like it though how the show can have it's funny moments but the real serious parts are also portrayed very well.

The condom bit was quite amusing. Landry gives Matt such horrible advice...

By far the best show on TV period. Can't wait until they come out with the season 1 DVD. Hopefully if there is a second season that it doesn't hit the crapper like The OC did after the first season. Now it just plain sucks.

It's not even on the air anymore. They had the series finale a month or two ago.......I mean, that shows lame, I didn't host O.C. parties every thursday night at 7:00 C.S.T.

I had the same feelings after watching the first episode, but I've been hooked ever since watching it the second time around. I knew as soon as the MILF next door moved in, that Tim Riggins was going to be nailing that. Anyone else find it funny that the little kid calls him Tim Riggins every time and not just Tim or Riggins. Gotta love the little kids...

Yeah, Tim Riggins this and Tim Riggins that. And last night he asked Tim if he was going to sleep over again which was kind of funny because the mom wants to keep it a secret but he found out anyways.

I think next week there is a twist because they showed in the previews that he took the college job offer and the coach is one of the main characters so I can see a twist coming that he turns down the offer before signing a contract or something. Would be too hard of a story line to follow if there were 2 football teams seasons involved plus if him taking the job was the big cliff hanger they wouldn't have showed it on the previews.

    Re: Friday Night Lights

I think it is a good show and is well written. I was wondering if they were ever going to play the semi final game. It was like 4-5 weeks between playoff games!

My wife who thinks "Lost" is great thinks the story line on Friday Night Lights is too unrealistic!

Has she ever seen the FNL movie? I would say it's just like Texas High School Football...
