    Recruiting Rank

I looked today and we are ranked #51 on rivals and Iowa is ranked #39. It's pretty sweet to be getting up there for recruiting in the first full class of CPR. Also, is Iowa's class going to get a big boost on signing day? I figured it would be higher with the year they just had.

(if this belongs in instate rivals go ahead and move it)

Also we are #21 in LB recruiting, and #23 in DB recruiting.

    Re: Recruiting Rank

What I am exceedingly excited about is next years recruiting class. The recruits we have now originally looked at ISU during an awful period for us. They saw a group that had 5 wins over the last two seasons, a coaching change that looked bad for ISU, and a program that appeared in shambles. With that CPR was able to come out with the 51st best recruiting in the nation! Next year, assuming we start our season 3-1, I think will be fantastic. People will see a program that is soaring, an amazing coach, and a team that can compete in back to back seasons. If the start of next season is good I think we move into the top 30 teams in recruiting.

I think Iowa should be a little higher than 39. They have a very solid class. I'm not too happy about it.

    Re: Recruiting Rank

51st is pretty solid. With our staff and a little luck, a top 25 ranking is quite doable within a few years.

We would have to win the Big 12.

I agree with this. Iowa's class looks very solid IMO. Some very good talent, but also a bunch of lunch pail type hard working kids that will be a lot better on the field than their star ranking would indicate.

Specifically the kid from Solon... Morrisson. He's going to be a stud.

    Re: Recruiting Rank

All we need is a huge upset at home (against OU or Texas) when we have a bunch of recruits in the house.

Doesn't Iowa do better with 'unheralded' recruiting classes? What did their top 5 class do? Not a flame, just asking.

    Re: Recruiting Rank

Iowa's class would be top 20 but they don't need to sign 25 guys in this class and thus the lack of committs brings their ranking down. Still a very solid class

This is one of the best Iowa State classes in a while IMO

Oops... I think the kid from Solon is Morris, not Morrisson. My bad. He's still REALLY good.

    Re: Recruiting Rank

i would bet we end up closer to 60th when all is said and done. we can potentially have one more sign and that is it. there are a LOT of teams behind us right now who still have 5-10 schollie spots open. once they pull in a few more recruits they will pass us up.

even so, for a first year class from a team only a year ago in shambles, not too bad.

Nebraska looks like a better chance for a upset, but thats just opinion.Beating a team like OU and Texas on their turf, is not impossible but a little far fetched till we see how this team jells under year 2.
