Where will Sage end up playing?

I doubt he will be a Viking as Jackson moved ahead of him apparently. There are a lot of teams where he would be a good fit. Any ideas?

I'd take him in Denver. Orton sucks. Of course after we trade Marshall Sage won't have anyone worth a crap to throw too.

I would rather have Orton than Rosenfels... I would imagine MN drafts a QB pretty high this year.

I think if Favre didn't come to the Vikings, Sage would have been the starter. He showed that he was better than T-Jack during pre-season games.
The reason he was No. 3 QB was because Brad Childress thought T-Jack was more familiar with the system.
He can play in the NFL - unfortunately people will remember his self-destruction against Indy.
I wonder whether Cardinals want him. Cleveland needs a QB too but I hope he can go to Arizona, at least the coaching staff is better than Cleveland

Considering T-Jack only played in garbage time anyway, this seems like a bunch of BS. Wouldn't that be the time to acclimate the QB you thought had the most potential to the system?

I hate to say it, but I just don't see him ever getting that shot.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

If he can't beat out T-Jack on the depth chart, he is never going to be a starting NFL quarterback.

edit: Nobody should feel sorry for him though. He's getting a pretty fat paycheck for standing on the sidelines bantering with Favre. ;)

No kidding. Back-up NFL quarterback has to be right up there with best jobs ever.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get a chance with Buffalo. The Bills are going to be drafting a qb most likely this year or next year and Sage could be that veteran that starts for a couple years while a younger guy learns the system. He has a couple of weapons there to he could use.

I don't see Sage being a guy who steps in while the young buck learns the system. In that situation usually its a guy in decline they bring in, ala Warner in NY. Also it seems most teams have gone to the Trial by Fire method in most cases, see Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Mark Sanchez. That is unless they are drafting as a future replacement ala Aaron Rogers and Philip Rivers.

No matter how good you are, you're going to lose one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are you're going to win one-third of your games. It's the other third that makes the difference. ~Tommy Lasorda

Chilly always thinks that T-Jack has the most potential.
I don't think Sage got a fair chance. I am still surprised why Vikings traded for Sage, probably because they were not sure that Favre could be persuaded to join.

This is it. It looks like TJ was given the backup position for no real competitive reason. Sage got screwed I think, which is why I was so glad to see the Vikings lose.

I agree. With a new coach coming into Buffalo, they don't have a system yet. If they draft somebody they would be at the same place as Sage unless it is a system Sage has run before.

Personally I think he was better off at Houston with Schaub being injury prone. He could have had a shot at beating him out.

Re: Where will Sage end up playing?

Could it be that the Vikings were shopping T Jackson since he is now a restricted free agent? They can now demand a second day round pick if a team comes calling. Sage learns the system and works with Brett and T-Jack shows off to potential suitors. This coming from a Bears fan.
