    2 Guys to go after

I have looked at a couple of different posts and seen that some of you want another big and others would like a guard. Here are two names that are top talents that have not yet signed that I believe the coaching staff could go after: What are your thoughts???

Patrick Patterson- PF 6-8, 220 Huntington, W.Va- plays with OJ Mayo, 5 Star Recruit

Jai Lucus- PG 5-10, 150 Bellarie, TX- 4 Star Recruit

Last I new these two have not signed with anyone

Both actually are playing in the McDonalds All American game tonight at 7 ( I think at 7) on ESPN

They'll go to Kentucky, Florida or somewhere like that when scholarships open up after players leave for the NBA.

Neither of them would have us on their radar.

I'm all for a few monster size guys that can just run over the top of the BigXII.
That Patrick guy sounds interesting. I may have to do a bit more research.

Patterson's a SUPERB shot blocker, and he has very developed post moves; he was on ESPN earlier this year. He has his pick of schools imo.

Re: 2 Guys to go after

I am one of the few who think we should be able to land players of this caliber. Lawrence, Kansas is no Carribean oasis studded with palm trees and hot chicks in bikinis. Same goes for Lexington, Kentucky. Florida and UCLA do have the palm trees and the hot chicks in bikinis. But there are only so many roster spots between those two programs. Yes, the big programs have tradition, but they also have a bunch of talent on the court and the bench. Come to Iowa State and be THE MAN like Marcus Fizer. When Hilton is at its best, you can't tell me Rupp Arena, the Dean Dome, or Phog Allen Junior High has any better atmosphere. I want to see McDermott and his staff go hard after the best and SELL, SELL, SELL! Hopefully they are already. Brackins is no slouch according to all the recruiting services. Why not bag one or two more?!?!?!?

If Brackins is the number 4 power forward why is he not playing in the McDonalds All - American game?

Prep school players ARE allowed. There are players from Oak Hill Academy every year.

Lucas is 5'10'' 150 lbs? Might want to try eating a "hungry man" dinner.

Re: 2 Guys to go after

Lucas was looking at iowa so i think we have a shot. also McD is probably the best big man coach in the midwest if not the country patterson may take a look.

I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."
