    As fans we're disappointed....

....but if you're a player on the team, what do you think the mentality is? I'd like to think that the players aren't getting down on the team, the coach, the fans, etc, because they are competitors and they just want to win...but can't for whatever reason. At what point do you think "the season is hopeless" mentality sets in for the players?

Of course this is all hypothetical, but I'm curious to know what people think.

Well NCAAs are pretty much officially gone...

In their defense it would be REALLY hard to stay motivated to get back onto the NIT/CBI bubble.

It takes a lot to put in that much energy into practice and playing games during a season that has no real meaning anymore. I respect them for working as hard as they do.

I would be thinking of tranferring before I played another year for GMAC. If I was a senior I would be thinking what the hell did I come here for. Things like that.

When the light at the end of the tunnel realistically shows no postseason play and when you look at the fact that pretty much every player that has left this program in recent years - has done better since they left - it's pretty tough to get motivated.

They still should be fighting for it all. Tonight showed that Mac can get them to play, they just need to do it all the time.

It's hard to say without being in the locker room with them. If they really like each other, and care about their coach, the second half would be very encouraging. They sucked it up and refused to quit. The first half looked like an NBA all star team, and not in a good way, in a way that looked like they had never played together and weren't on the same page.

I'm kind of scared to say this, because it rarely happens, but I agree.

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

    Uh, they have?

    Wesley Johnson? Yes
    Clayton Vette? No
    Wes Eikmeier? No
    Corey Johnson? Maybe
    Marcus Brister? No

    Need I continue?

No wonder we are so behind in talent.

This is the one thing I don't get about the players leaving and quiting (lucca, wesley Johnson, etc.). Do they really look at the coach and say "I just don't care if you get fired" but they have to know everytime one of them leaves, it just puts another nail in GMac's coffin. I would think that they would feel at least kind of bad that they are going to cause a good/decent man his job (even though it is a high paying job at that). It would be easier if he was a ***** or something but GMac is a class A guy, totally nice and a great person in general and these kids just straight **** him over. Really sad...

Yep, this thread has just been pwned.

    Dunson, McIntosh

And I'm not listing Carr or Taggart because they were previous recruits, but both of them did far better post-ISU as well.
