Vikings to go after McNabb if Farve retires

ESPN - ESPN's John Clayton reports that Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will be Minnesota's top target if Brett Favre opts to retire.

Clayton added that the Vikings may be willing to part with a second round pick in order to acquire McNabb.

McNabb has a history with Vikings head coach Brad Childress, who coached under Andy Reid in Philadelphia.

Also, Minnesota's quarterback coach, Kevin Rogers, was McNabb's quarterbacks coach at Syracuse.

    Thoughts? to bad for Sage

didn't they trade a 2nd for sage? I would think it would have to be more than just a 2nd for DM (add a 3rd or 4th maybe)??

Sage isn't the answer for the Vikings IMO.

I just hope that Favre strings the Vikes on forever with his indecision. It kills an organization.... and I'm glad the Packers are done with that nightmare.

IIRC, I think it was a 4th rounder they gave up for Sage

Re: Vikings to go after McNabb if Farve retires

I heard on the radio today that they did a survey in Philly to see who the fans want back: McNabb, Kolb, or the dog killer. It was something like 70-80% for Kolb and something like 36% for McNabb. Crazy. I've always thought McNabb was pretty good.

The only problem is Farve's decision probably won't come until June, and then after training camp has started he will change his mind. By that time McNabb will be locked up.

farve is done, he could barely walk after that NO game. all you have to do is take a couple personal foul calls and i quote Easy-E "knocked his old *** out"

I don't watch the Eagles much, but when I have, I have not been impressed with McNabb. Against the Cowboys this year he totally missed on a number of passes that should be routine for any NFL quarterback.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

If they get McNabb, at least Sage will see some playing time, because it's a guarantee he will miss some games.

we dont have much options if we even want to sniff the playoffs next year. That being if brett retires.

Yea, no kidding. I wonder what the deal will be if this actually happens? Let's hope the current head honchos in Minnesota don't repeat the Herschel Walker fiasco.
