    Table Rock Lake

Had a question for everyone. My wife and I are going to Table Rock for our 5 year anniversary and trying to decide where to stay.

My grandparents lived in Shell Knob after they retired and I used to spend a month every summer down there when I was a kid. After my grandmother died when I was 14 haven't been back there since my grandpa moved back up to Iowa. So it has been 17 years since I have been there and I am sure tons have changed.

Have been looking at some of the resorts around where my grandparents used to live but I think since it will be just the two of us and no kids we may want to be around some night life and last I knew Shell Knob didn't have much night life.

Anyways was looking at something like Big Cedar or Chateau on the Lake. Both are places that we can keep our boat at as well as have bars and restaurants for us on site. A little spendy but oh well. Next year when we take the kids we will go stay at one of the mom and pop resorts around shell knob for sure. Was just wondering if anyone had any other ideas for a place to stay that has night life close to it but is on the water with slips that you can rent.

    Thanks

Table Rock is in the Ozarks in Missouri right by Branson.

There just simply isn't much for night life in that area. You could stay down by the Kimberling City Bridge as Ahoys and the Bearded Clam have some night life but the two places that you mentioned are definitely more modern. You can go down to Branson Landing for some more night entertainment but it sits below the Dam and you can't get there by boat from LTR. If you want night life just go the Lake of the Ozarks this year and take the kids to Tablerock next year for a family vacation.

My parents owned a lodge in Lampe right off the lake, not too far from Kimberling City. Man that brings back some memories. My sister actually worked at Ahoys during high school.

I stayed at Big Cedar twice last year and loved it both times. The cabins there are amazing. You will have plenty of things to do there, you won't have to leave Big Cedar. The second time we stayed, was over New Years, and I must say they had the best Fireworks I have ever seen.

We have stayed at Little Indian, Cres View, and the Chalet down that arm before. So i suppose you have made a beer run to HayBobs before? Absolutely love that part of the lake. Wetayed closer to the bridge last time and it was good too.

If you don't know where Table Rock is, you probably aren't going to be able to help the OP anyway

Cres-Vu was the lodge that my parents used to own. They sold it probably 5-6 years ago and moved to Las Vegas.

I have stayed at the Chateau on the Lake several times. The spa they added on a few years ago is tremendous. It is a a lot spendy.
