    What ever happenned to....

    Matt Robertson
    Josh Johnson
    Waye Terry
    Greg Coleman
    Brandon Gunn
    Jimmy Morris
    A.J. Haase

All of these guys started their careers at ISU as being highly recruited but none of them completed their eligibility in Ames. Just curious as to what happenned to them after they left...If you can think of any others and know their whereabouts/accomplishments in football, then post them as well.

I believe Waye Terry sustained a head injury while playing here that ended his career and Matt Robertson tested positive for a banned substance

I definitely remember Waye Terry sustaining a career ending injury and I think it might have been during a game. Either his back, neck, or head if I remember correctly.

    Re: What ever happenned to....

Matt Robertson was suspended for his final year because of a illegal substance and exhausted his eligibility at a small school in Missouri, I think D2.

Jimmy Morris blew his knee out early in his time at ISU and never could recover and get it all the way back. He stayed at ISU and finished his degree and worked as a Student assistant in a lot of ways with the football team. I had a bunch of classes with him and he was a hell of a nice guy.

    Re: What ever happenned to....

Waye did have a career ending injury at one of the last game of the year either against Missouri or Kansas, I can't remember. It was the year before Brett Meyer became quarterback, because that year we had QB issues and I believe that Austin Flynn was the starter for most of the year. He had to be taken off the field in a stretcher.

Waye Terry's injury was the final game in 2003 against Missouri.

Here is the beginning to an AP article on Waye Terry from 11-29-03

Iowa State QB Terry Taken From Field - AP Online | Encyclopedia.com

Mentions that he was taken from the field on a stretcher at Missouri that day

    Re: What ever happenned to....

Waye Terry had a career ending injury
Matt Robertson tested positive for a banned substance and ended up at NW Missouri State
Greg Coleman went to Montana and is in jail, I believe
Josh Johnson either had grade issues or law issues and who knows where he is
Not sure if Brandon Gunn gave up football, was here for awhile but never amounted to much
    A.J. Haase went to Yale
Jimmy Morris had injury issues and was a staff member for the rest of his time at ISU

I remember watching Matt Robertson play on ESPN for NW Mo ST. Pretty sure they were D2 runner's up.

I had classes with Jimmy as well, and he was a very nice guy. He would also let us know how things were going with the football program as well. Ofcourse nothing that he couldn't tell us, but was very friendly.
