    To be respected or feared

I wanted to echo Tedcyclone's sentiments that CA did a really great job with the cheers against KU.

That being said, I wanted to throw something out there and let you discuss the cons of this scenario. I remember when I was a freshman in '99-'00 and I was lucky enough to have my lottery seats down on the lower level fall in the lump of games with KU. So I sat about 5 rows back from the KU bench. Sometime during the game, when we were doing the SIT DOWN ROY! chant, some guy close to me took off his shirt, wadded it up, and chucked it at Williams. Now I don't condone this behavior, but I certainly won't complain about it.

This leads me to my point. If we aren't producing on the court, then god damnit, I want the opposing team, fans, and refs to fear going into Hilton. I don't want us throwing things onto the court, but I'd like the other team/refs to feel at least slightly uncertain about their safety . Good sportsmanship is for the coaches and players. Good sportsmanship as a fan is for losers as far as I'm concerned.

Am I the only one here? I'd like to be known as the most feared fanbase in the Big 12. What is the downside to having this reputation? Would we lose out on advertising, tv spots, what?

I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but there is a fine line between being the most feared and rabid fanbase, and being the fanbase with the most ****** and *****.

I agree with the sentiment. I think it is good to create a hostile environment, but we don't want to be flat out jerks.
