Staff Changes From Across the Big XII North

Small, and rather informative, article from the Columbia Tribune about staff changes across the North.

Here is the ISU snippet. Love the stats about the defense.

Paul Rhoads coaching staff will look the same in Year 2 as it did in Year 1.
My take: Why mess with success? Rhoads and the staff he cobbled together a year ago guided the Cyclones to a 7-6 record and a victory in the Insight Bowl. Before his arrival, Iowa State had gone 8-27 the previous three seasons. Hired from South Florida, defensive coordinator Wally Burnham improved ISU from 10th to fifth among Big 12 teams in scoring defense. Only Texas forced more takeaways than ISU's 32. On offense, Rice import Tom Werner introduced a run-first spread attack that ranked among the Big 12's best rushing offenses most of the season.

    Tom Werner? 8-27?

I guess it's not just Tim Griffin. Nobody proofreads these days.

Re: Staff Changes From Across the Big XII North

Who in the hell is Tom Werner? Also, we were 9-27 the previous three years. I'm sure this is a Missouri writer referring to the 2006 game against Mizzou, which most Mizzou fans refuse to admit was a defeat.

I'm sure glad Rhoads figured out a way to cheat the system and have this Werner guy behind the scenes working with Herman.

I blame Tom Werner for any of the offensive struggles this year. He has to be behind all of those AA turnovers.

What a horrible article. Horrible. He has one team,KU, that has complete turnover and the only thing he says about the staff ins Gill is African-American and so are three other coaches. Seriously? At least discuss what the OC and DC bring to the table.

I really raised my eye brows when I got in to that. He brought in a completely irrelevant issue.

Re: Staff Changes From Across the Big XII North

I found out why we had struggles on offense! Our coordinator is a baseball guy.
Tom Werner (born April 12, 1950 in New York City, New York) is the Chairman of the Boston Red Sox, as well as an American television producer and businessman.

    That's my wikipedia search

Hmm, sounds like maybe the guy has some money. Maybe he will drop some back into the program. I for one would look forward to sitting in the new Werner endzone seats in the South side of the stadium.
