    Hilton Magic Article by Hlas

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened.”

Not sure if this would work, but if we go back to a score board with no score - would it help? Maybe other teams were so confused thinking they had the lead and couldn't find the score so they backed off......

I'd love to see us go back to a scoreboard that didn't suck the life and enthusiasm out of the crowd with "Apple Shuffles" and "Delta Dental Ugly Kid" contests. Let the cheerleaders cheer; let the band play instead.

I like to refer to those breaks as the "wet blanket" break of the day. Too bad we have more than one.

I get it, they make money. But they ARE a wet blanket.

Oh come on...all of us that were there back in the 80s are just delusional old men embellishing our memories of Hilton!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Ah the days of Orr, Floyd and Larry........

One day Jamie Pollard will realize that this situation is not working out, he went out and got a guy that 99% of us thought would succeed here. Well we were all wrong, time to take our medicine and go get a coach that can recruit, coach, RETAIN, and win!

more than one? We have the apple shuffle, the smile cam, the drive home forecast, a cyclone alley break of some sort, and depending on what song is played, the jukebox thing. All of which usually come up at a point where we either have or have just gotten some momentum, and all of which end up usually causing us to lose said momentum. If whoever does media at athletics can't make a good video for the intro, they ought to just cut the video and put all those ads in its place, rather than wrecking the game with them.

Good article. I haven't been around that long, 90s and 2000s, but that was some great basketball. You could of brought the Chicago Bulls of old in and they would of had a tough time against the Cyclones!! The fans were just crazy.

Question of the day: How many consecutive home games did Iowa State win?

I can't remember the exact number, but if I remember correctly, I think we had he second longest streak at one point behind Michigan State

Hilton is just short of being another gym. I can't imagine too many teams even think of Hilton as anything else.
