Re: Last time we beat KU in Ames was Sullivans freshman year

I just remember 2003-2004 as the last bastion of Hilton Magic. We only lost one home game that year, to Okie Lite. We should have swept KU that year, as well...the free-throw, 3 pointer, free-throw in the first half, phantom "turnover" at the end of regulation that (I think) would have sent Sullivan to the line...

Next year Stinson hits the teardrop in OT deep in the Phog to put us in the NCAA's

It's been all downhill since then.

    I get what you mean

PS: for me, the game today was over at the 13-minute mark in 1st-half. I was pretty much not into the game from then on.
+ KU had 17 offensive ribbies; the most so far this season. I counted four on one possession.
+ You know it's a tough game when your lottery pick get 1-rebound, and your PG gets 0 points.
+ If our worst FT shooter never visited the line today, we woulda shot 80% FT.

Agree with everything. The real disaster is Brackins only getting one rebound. Inexcusable.

He wasn't given anything. He had three years left on his contract. We fired him with two remaining. And here we are trying to figure out how a great coach like GMAC cannot do what a satellite dish salesman could.

People also forget that we likely were in the NIT in Morgan's 3rd year if JP lobbies for a game. We may have made another nice NIT run to get us ready for another NCAA trip the next year with the whole team returning. And yes I have no doubt the whole team would have returned had the staff and players received any support from JP during the season instead of just the opposite. I'm not sure whether to blame JP more for Morgan getting canned or Gary Thompson, but it was obviously a huge mistake we're still paying for.

Hey man, better be careful here...next thing you know Jeremy and Cyismydog will be on this thread proclaiming to the high heavens that every single player would have been academically ineligible and we would have gotten the NCAA death penalty for all of the supposed violations that were going on under WM that they can't tell us about or give us details on, but hey, we better beleive them, because they were happening and they just can't give us the details...but they were happening!

Hell, I still blame that piece of ***** writer for CBSSportsline.com, Gregg Doyel...his article about the whole scheduling "fiasco" might not have been the straw that broke the camel's back, as JP might have fired WM anyway, but it certainly didn't help. I've never loated a "journalist" more than I have Doyel.

Re: Last time we beat KU in Ames was Sullivans freshman year

Unfortunately that Doyel clown gave JP a weak excuse to run with to get rid of WM, but our basketball situation still falls squarely on JP. He could have waited to get the whole story and see if the NCAA thought anything was wrong, and stood by his coaching staff. As we know the NCAA said there wasn't anything there even worth investigating. I liked Morgan and I really liked Archibald. Morgan could recruit and I think Arch was a darn good x's and o'x guy. Sad to think about what could have been instead of what we've had.

why cant we beat any good teams

I know im complaining but ive seen every big 12 team besides us beat someone good this year. We have no good wins in three years, we havnt beat one impressive team, yes i am complaining but im sick of watching other teams have success and not us its been to long. I dont care to watch us get off to a 12-3 start or whatever against crap teams and then end up with three or four wins in the big 12, it sucks. We havnt beat a ranked team for what 4 years.

One guess, he is really big, wears a tie and sits near the players.
