Pollard, this is our new coach!!!!

Go get him and bring ISU basketball back to what it should be!

    JEFF HORNACEK.

    Last second buzzer beater:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36AK36P3VTo&feature=related]YouTube - 1986 NCAA Tournament first round - Miami (OH) vs Iowa State - Jeff Hornacek at the buzzer[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv7i2D06My8&NR=1]YouTube - Hornacek[/ame]

I was reading up on Jeff and it says he interviewed for the Bulls and Suns, but they went with a bigger name. I really think Jeff could do great things at ISU. First he knows what it takes to win at Iowa State. Second, recruiting would pick just with the NBA name/history. I also think that he would be loyal and not just pick up and go once he had success here and bigger schools come calling. I'm ready for a change.

Is he even coaching right now? If he is going to step in at ISU, he needs some experience coaching.

Like I said several times, bring him in an assistant coach first.

I'll bet about less tha 1% of current HS kids have ever heard of Jeff Hornacek in the NBA.

That said, I say let's go with a staff of Hornacek, Hoiberg and Jeff Grayer. Can't do any worse.

At least hire him as an assistant to work with the guards, and teach the entire team how to shoot free throws.

The only coaching experience he had I believe was a year or two ago. He was hired by the Jazz to help some of their players with their shooting and ball-handling I believe.

He did apply for the head coaching job with the Bulls, and sounded like he was in line for an assistant coaching job in Phoenix........

No coaching experience whatsoever. How about an a top assistant in a major conference.

I agree. Look for a top assistant from a successful Big 12 or successful Big East school.

Manning is at KU to recruit. I highly doubt he has any input on x and o's or anything like that.

Re: Pollard, this is our new coach!!!!

    Unlikely.
The cyclone administration passed on Jeff Grayer and Barry Stevens back when they hired Wayne Morgan. I think that is plenty of precedent to say that they wouldn't think twice about passing up Jeff Hornacek.

Now if the Mayor were to get pushed out of his cushy Timberwolves job, that might be a different story.

Unfortunately there's still plenty of time to contemplate the next coach.

We should promote Bryan Petersen to Head Coach.

You don't know what you're talking about.

Regardless, I don't think Manning really wants the pressure of a head job at this point. He seems pretty content as an assistant. If/when Self ever leaves, that may change.
