Gmac on hot seat according to FOX

    sorry if already posted

Weekend Preview: Coaches, former powers face pressure - CBK News - FOX Sports on MSN

    300 DEGREES

Ernie Kent, Oregon The Ducks head coach seemingly has more lives than anyone else. Oregon was 8-23 and 2-16 in Pac-10 play last year and while his overall record is 219-157 in his 12 years in Eugene, the Ducks are just 10-8 overall this year and have lost four straight in Pac-10 play to fall to 2-4.

Sidney Lowe, N.C. State The Wolfpack had a huge win against Duke earlier in the week, but the reality remains that Lowe is staring at a fourth consecutive season of not making the Big Dance. N.C. State is 13-6 overall and 2-3 in league play, so you can't count the Wolfpack out just yet.

Greg McDermott, Iowa State A terrific mid-major coach at Northern Iowa who just hasn't been able to get over the hump. He entered the season with a 44-51 record in his three seasons and the Cyclones, who boast one of the best players in America in Craig Brackins, are 12-6 overall and 1-2 in Big 12 play. However, McDermott took a hit when shooter Lucca Staiger up and left to play pro ball back home earlier in the week.

He did last year and it still didn't get his team a win.

McDermott was not a terrific mid-major coach. Good, yes. Terrific?..... not so much.

Are we moving on to bashing his UNI years too?

Considering what he did for UNI he was a terrific coach. It just ain't happened here.

Note the "however", meaning......we've got a great player, and we're 12-6, but a portion of our fans has their panties in a bunch.

Yeah, its hard to believe people are unhappy with the program. These past 4 years have been some great basketball.

He seemingly has a little more help this year. But, yeah, with the way this season is going, I just don't see him having that type of performance against ku again this year...

Well he's not on the hot seat. And he knows it. He's fortunate to have a fat contract that readily excuses losing.

Re: Gmac on hot seat according to FOX

I opened up my CR Gazette this morning and read two more lies from Mr. GMac.

He says in there that he had "no other choice but to play Colvin", and that he was the "last player off the bench". Both lies.

Nobody was in foul trouble or injured, so he did not "have" to play Colvin... period.

And Colvin was also not the "last player off the bench" either. Dorr did not play against Tech.

We basically have 3 guys that can run the point if needed... Garrett, Buckley, and Scotty. Colvin did not HAVE to play.

In the end, GMac will regret this decision. Lickliter over at Iowa is compromising his values by letting Tucker come back yet again, and GMac is doing it by going back on his word with Colvin at ISU. Both coaches are feeling the pressure to win, and are putting winning over principles right now. Sad. Especially after GMac just stated that winning games would not come before doing what is right for Colvin. Unreal.

Winning the Missouri Valley Conference is not that hard to do folks. Sorry... it just isn't.

He was a good coach at UNI. Above average, but not great.
