Good Chizik article in the DMR

I have to give props to the Register, this is a good read.

    Best quote in the article:
We want you. We don't need you.

"He's told us that from Day 1," receiver Todd Blythe said. "He's talking to all of us, saying 'I don't really care what they say about you in the paper. I don't care what they say about you on TV or the Internet.'

"A whole bunch of us could leave or get kicked off the team, and (the program) wouldn't stop running.

Chizik is building a team. T-E-A-M. A program for today and the future. I like what I'm reading so far. I can't wait to see it in person this weekend! :)

Re: Good Chizik article in the DMR

I heard a quote today on the radio where he was talking about he doesn't believe in inheritance. That if someone is a better player he doesn't care if there is a 2 or 3 year starter ahead of them blocking them from playing, he is going with the guy that will help win games regardless of who has been at that position in the past.

I like that mentality. Goes along with the QB debate, I don't care that Meyer is a senior, if Arnaud or Bates proves they are better and would give us a better chance of winning with them as the starter I hope Chizik sticks with that mentality this fall with the 2 deeps.

the line about body language is what impressed me. how many times when in tight situations did we see Mac pacing the sidelines like a rabid hyena?

I know he hasn't coached a single down yet for ISU, but damn I have a good feeling about this guy!

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Reading some of the comments to the article made me think-- I hope GC is never, ever, compared to Ole Runner Up Raisin Face Hayden Fry.

Gene has class. The other still remains one of the main reason I can't stand Iowa football to this day.
