    Any LasikPlus WDM customers

I am considering LasikPlus in West Des Moines to correct my vision. Anyone had their eyes corrected at this place?

Yes. My advice would be to get the "Custom Lasik". It'll run you an extra couple hundred and I don't know how that would compare with Wolfe.

I got the "traditional" surgery and my eyes ended up regressing somewhat leading to a second surgery 10 months later. Whether that was more the fault of LasikPlus or my eyes, I don't know. They gave me a second Custom surgery free of charge so I have no problem recommending them, but it was an inconvenience. I couldn't be happier with my vision since the Custom surgery.

    how long ago was this?

    Pricing?

Did it correct your vision to 20/20?

    Thanks in advance.

The most recent procedure was almost a year ago. After the first surgery my vision started 20/20, but stabilized around 20/25 which made certain activities annoying like night driving and seeing distant objects in large buildings.

I dropped a little north of $3k after adding eye drop expenses. Wolfe quoted me something like $4400 a couple years ago. They do a great job from what I have heard. LasikPlus is cheaper and maybe I got what I payed for with the need for a second try. They did do a good job of making it right on their dime. Definitely at steady 20/20 now.

I got lasik done at Wolfe last January. I hated spending so much money but when the flap was cut open I was happy that I spent a little more. No issues since. No problems at night, able to see fine at night, etc.

Got my done at LasikPlus in June 08. I thought they did a great job, but of course I can't compare to anyone else. I did have 20/200 vision and now I'm between 20/15 and 20/20 (depending on time of day and so on). I would recommend them to anyone, mine cost a little shy of 4grand

I think I paid a little under $4,000 at Wolfe and just paid it off through my HSA

I'm curious about this also. And I would kill for 20/25

I believe, one is a computer generated map of your eye, and the other is a "man made" map of your eye. With me, I was just on the edge of what they could do with the traditional. It cost far more to have your eyes mapped by a computer. Also, before the lasik can actually happen, you have to have a thin layer of tissue on the eye cut and folded back. They can do this two ways, by a different laser or by hand. I would highly suggest the laser.

Just an FYI if you want to be a Iowa Farm Bureau member you get a 20% discount at Wolfe. For $40 get $800 discount.

I remember now when I was inquiring at Lasik Plus a year ago they did talk about that. I remember the part about cutting the flap with a laser as opposed to a rusty scalpel.

It is a temporary fix, don't do it. If you must, get a second opinion and stay away from Wolfe. I recommend the staff at Methodist. Either way, do some research on your own because there aint no going back! I did and glad I did. My second opion said I was not a good canidate and would not do it, but Wolfe was ready to take my money and go cutting and burning.

    My 2 cents worth.

P.s. Everyone I know that has had it except for 1 person, wears glasses again after 2-3 years, with side effects(Dry eyes).
