    Recruiting for 2010

    So far we have:
    Melvin Ejim - Yahoo! Sports
    DeMarcus Phillips - Yahoo! Sports
    Jordan Railey - Yahoo! Sports

Do we try and sign one more in the spring or do we save one if we have an extra one for the loaded class of 2011?

Some names i've heard on here for 2010 are:
    Will Clyburn - Yahoo! Sports
    Norvell Arnold - Yahoo! Sports

Also just wondering if were still in the running for Phillip Jackson - Yahoo! Sports.

"We embrace that challenge and what it presents to us. Im going to approach all 12 games this way: Were going to win them all. If we prepare and then go out and execute, were going to win all 12. Now how many are we going to end up with at the end of the year? I dont know, and youre right, I wont put a number on it."- Paul Rhoads on having the toughest schedule in the Big 12

    Re: Recruiting for 2010

We're going to need another big guy or wing player. IMO, Brackins & Gil are gone no matter what. Lucca's already bailed (he wouldn't have come back anyway), and Pomlee was booted off the team. Somebody will probably transfer as well (Oliver, Buck, Colvin).

Dendy & JVB will both be seniors, so it might be beneficial to bring in another big guy next year, that way, he'll be seasoned after next year.

I wouldn't mind seeing another athletic 2 guard that could also play a little wing. Somebody in the 6'4"-6'5" range.

    Hamilton
    Dendy
    Railey
    JVB maybe???

unless Brackins comes back we need another post
even if he does three of the five would be seniors

    PG DG, Colvin Buckley
    SG Christopherson, Boozer, Phillips
    SF Ejim, Oliver, Gilstrap(hopefully)

need another post more than a wing even if Gilstrap is gone

if we lose anyone it would be one of the PGs

Yeah, assuming worst case. Might not end up being five; those are the guys I like. Just an opinion.

Thats true. what about 2011 besides Cook? How do we stand with Randle?

Haven't heard much about Randle lately, but haven't asked either. There some names, but I'm not sure if they are suppose to be released or not, so I'll hold up on that.

Really depends on what ends up happening in 2010 before we know what we are looking for in 2011.

Gilstrap is gone no matter what. He won't come back even if he's given a year by the NCAA (which they won't). I also think one of the guards could be headed out.

So while yes, we should go after a big man first, I think we're also going to need a perimeter player with a little size. We play quite a few teams in our league that will run 3 and even 4 guards out there, so we need all the depth in the backcourt we can get. Also, I like Scotty, but there are guys out there that have the talent to play over him.

DeMarcus Phillips is better than Scotty from all reports I have heard.
