After this failed season I say we bring Coach Floyd back. Oh man, that would be freaking awesome. Someone who knows what he is doing..... and Cyclone Nation would be rocking again!

It would have to be a great offer, but you never know.

    Re: Floyd

I don't think so. It would be a cool story to get him back. I would hope that he has learned from all his travels: (i.e. what the NBA did to him right after the ISU job.... then to USC....and who still loves him? ISU is the answer.) Would be great to get him back in Ames. People worship him here.....and I think he wouldn't "use us" well, that is harsh...he didn't use us... he had an unreal offer to the BULLS....and thought he would try the pros out. He wouldn't "use us" now because he knows what to expect from the NBA and high-end College BB. Life is simple here in Iowa. And Iowa Staters are the most passionate fanbase. He would think about it....if offered, no doubt IMO.

Which would mean that he would have to have enough success that someone else would come calling. Hopefully he would get more calls than McToast.

    Re: Floyd

let's just say "if" we are looking for a new coach in the near future, are there really any Paul Rhoads type of guys out there that used to be part of the Cyclone program that could come right in and succeed and this be their "dream job?" I can't think of anyone really.

And what sucks is if you do take a chance on someone that is somewhat a proven commodity and he succeeds here this probably won't be his destination job. When we hired McDermott I saw this as a job he'd be at for a long time with success. Unfortunately now the clock is ticking and he may run out of time before that happens.

    Re: Floyd

Get Floyd back, and then he hires Freddy Hoiberg as one of his assistants....kinda like Danny Manning on the KU squad. Then when Floyd's time has past.....it is MAYOR time.

Wow, that is an Iowa Stater's dream if I have ever heard of one.

I really hope our AD truely is thinking about canning him and looking at potentials right now as we speak.

Why wouldn't Floyd be in that line-up? Haven't companies in the real world hired people back? Ever? In the history of man-kind? He should be in that line-up for all I'm concerned.

    Re: Floyd

I started a thread on this awhile back. I would LOVE for Floyd to come back. And if anyone says the McD is better than you have to sit in message board time out for the next three weeks.

    Re: Floyd

Floyd might mean we'd have to take on sanctions if the allegations about him and Mayo are true. Also he's left us once before, who is to say he wouldn't leave again if he turned ISU around? Also, pretty sure he doesn't want to come back to ISU anyways. I would bet there is a better chance of Larry coming back to ISU than Tim and either one of them are such slim chances that you'd be more likely to win the powerball tonight than it happening.

I just think its living in the past. Thats all. Great coach, great teams, great times at ISU. Didn't mean to disrespect you.

Also, I am perfectly willing to eat crow if we aren't in the NCAA by the end of the season. I too am disappointed in what is going on, but refuse to give up on the team in the thick of it. I still see our team trying their best and giving there all. To me Tech was an example of that. This team has become a team since the Duke debacle. They are still growing, and I think they will continue.
