    High school class song

What was your "class song" or the song that played as you exited your high school graduation? Do they still do class songs? The stuffed animal thread, namely the Van Halen references, reminded me of my class song, "Right Now" by Van Halen. Widly popular in '93. I always hated that song. "Yesterday" by GNR actually won the first time, but the principal felt the message was too negative, and called for a re-vote.

Ours was "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. Did it for a classmate that passed away our sophomore year.

    Re: High school class song

There wasn't one for my class (graduated in 2003) but it probably would have been "Crazy Game of Poker" by O.A.R. Very popular band and song, even throughout several different social cliques. Jocks, stoners, smart kids, popular kids, and the group that was sort of a mix of all of those cliques universally liked 'em. Hell, even the bottom of the social ladder probably did too.

    Re: High school class song

We didn't have one. Our prom song was "Dreaming Of You" by Selena though. If we would have had a class song, it probably would have been "In Da Club" by 50 because I graduated with dumb *** broads. That song came out my senior year of HS (2003).

weird. ours was "Wish You Were Here" by Incubus.

the other 2 finalists were "The Dance" by Garth and "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd...the last one simply because we wanted to watch the choir stand on stage and sway for the 10 minute guitar solo.

    Re: High school class song

Graduated in 1996 and the first song we wanted was "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen but our administration wouldn't allow that one b/c it had a line in the song about going to the Pub. The second song we wanted was "Learning to Fly" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers but they wouldn't let us have that one b/c it was about getting high. So, we just decided to not have one after that.

Similar situation here......I think the class (and by that I mean other people, because I couldn't give two ****s about it) voted for Never Say Goodbye by Bon Jovi, but it was denied due to the "six pack and radio". End up with Nothing's going to stop us now by REO, one of the top ten most irritating songs of the decade.

    Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog"
Not really, but that's what we said it would be if we could have any song we wanted.

Mine was Good Riddance by Green Day (2001). Kinda a mixed message. The lyrics are appropriate, but the title tells a different story.
