    NFL Pro Bowl

What should the NFL Pro Bowl do so the actual pro bowlers play?

Not have it the week before the super bowl, that's just asinine.

Bingo. How many subs will they need to find if Minnesota goes to the SB? Don't they have 10 pro bowlers?

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

Tom Brady and Phillip Rivers just announced they will not play in the Pro Bowl. And if the Colts win Peyton Manning wont be able to play either. Who knows the AFC starter might be Ryan Fitzpatrick from the Bills!

They should replace the Hall of Fame game and play it in the pre-season the next year.

Guys get a bonus for making the pro bowl. Maybe cut the bonus by 50-100%. Either that or just don't play it.

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

You have to tie an incentive (like MLB and the world series) but I don't know what it could be.

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

Problem is there is no incentive. At least by putting it before the super bowl, it is relevant. When it was in Hawaii, no one cared. The problem now is the fact that the super bowl teams players can't play.

I don't think that you have to worry about that...

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

Pro All-Star contests hold no appeal to me. With the money these guys are making and the value they have to their teams, I can not believe the owners alow these things to keep going on. I can understand it "back in the day" when slaries were not much different than a well paid muddle class person and the player needed the extra money, but at today's money I can not believe it. I am a Cardinal's fan and Albert Pujols has a bad elbow that he refuses to operate on and his homerun production always goes down in the second half of the season as he tires. Last year since the All-Star game was in St. Louis he participated in the homerun contest and I think he absolutely should not have done it. If some high dollar QB ever has a knee injury in the Pro Bowl, I could see some lawsuits being filed!

I think putting in the preseason as a pre-season kick-off when people are football starved would make it more relevant.

By the time you get to Mid-february when it is traditionally held, who cares about football anymore. Most people are either getting ready for baseball or watching college basketball.

By placing it between the playoffs and the superbowl, you have an open weekend that can act as a holdover for football crazed fans.

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

They should put it right before the NFL draft, they could use it to show rookies what they can become. Plus it allows rest for all the players to heal their injuries. I'm sure after a month or more without playing, people will miss it and want to play the pro bowl.

Plus it could give an incentive to players who are near their end of the contracts and want to show off their talent to re negotiate.

    Re: NFL Pro Bowl

I always thought they should make it a flag football game. Could probably find some other interesting things to add to it as well. I mean, who really wants to go to an all-star game where you are supposed to goof around and have fun only to get slobber-knocked around on the field.
