Check out today's register. One article accuses of Pollard of doing the same thing Morgan was fired for: Hiring a third party scheduler. Then, there is another article that re-hashes the entire D1 schedule debacle. Wow, that is top notch journalism. Apparently, when it is a slow news day, just pull out an old article that drags ISU throught the mud and rerun it. Why don't they pull out some old LE articles just for fun.

    1) Morgan wasnt fired for the D1 scheduling mishap, he was fired for lack of production on the court. D1 just made it easier for people to except the firing.

    2) It wasnt that he was using a scheduling company that got them into that mess. It was that he was using a crooked scheduling company that got them into this mess.

This article is probably the worst piece of journalistic crap I've ever had the misfortune to read. I think its about time we move Operation: Take back the media to the next step.

Wow, what worthless garbage. "Iowa isn't gonna use a company. Neither is Drake. But Iowa State is going to! *gasp* Obviously, as you can see, its terrible and trying to cheat people and waste its own money! Of course this has nothing to do with them hosting a tournament as opposed to just being in one... I'm just angry about that new billboard!"

    Unbelievable. You know Witosky? STFU.

The only reason it isn't over is cause idiots like this don't want it to be over, when in reality it is. I mean, can nobody see the differences? D-1 Scheduling... only around a few years... Basketball Travelers... 21 years!!! Am I the only one who sees a bit a legitimacy there?

Besides.... since when was ISU the ONLY college using either of these services?????????????? HUH??? That's right... NEVER!!!! BAH!

have no fear mates....this summer of "sniping" by Witoski will soon go by the wayside as time moves on..I refuse to get irrated any further regarding this issue...and let it ruin my season of gobbling corn dogs and oogling many of the fine bikini-clad beauties in the Des Moines area. Soon...football will be on us and we all be in the frenzy.

What do they mean Iowa won't use this company?

Quotes buried in the Basketball Travelers web site.

Steve Alford, Iowa 2003 trip to Australia. "One of the best tours I have been on. Great people to work with. We couldn't be happier with how our foreign trip was organized. I highly recommend Basketball Travelers."

They also have a qoute from Lisa Bluder about an Iowa womens trip to Italy in 2003.

I am glad I no longer give any money to the DMR!!

To use a Rush Limbaugh line, this is just another attempted of the drive by media shooting a round of fire into the crowd, and driving off before the mess is cleaned up, or the facts being discovered. Pollard did an excellent job explaining the deal and Witosky will be left holding the bag. Witosky and the rest of the Register don't realize the the people have the ability to find out the real facts. He is burying himself.

"If it was easy, someone else would have done it already." ISU Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard

When I was growing up in Iowa, The DSMR was a pretty decent paper to read since we always had the Omaha WH. But these Sports journalists have the mind set like Ann Coulter- Try and be so controversial and jaded that people will talk about it and guess what?? IT SELLS....While I wish Ann Coulter would run off to the Middle East and you know, see what happens..some of these DSMR need to be put in their place...or just don't read that paper....HITMAN

The following was e-mailed to Tom Witosky. I suggest all of you send something similar to him.

    -----

    Mr. Witosky,

In regards to your article in the Sunday Register (7/16/06) about ISU using Basketball Travelers and Iowa not using them…

I point you to the Basketball Travelers website, mainly to their coach's comments page. Here is a link…

    http://basketballtravelers.com/pages...s_comments.htm

A comment from Steve Alford, Iowa head basketball coach…

    Steve Alford, Iowa Men
    2003 Trip to Australia

"One of the best tours I have been on. Great people to work with. We couldn't be happier with how our foreign trip was organized. I highly recommend Basketball Travelers."

Lisa Bluder even "got into the action"…

    Lisa Bluder, Iowa Women
    2003 Trip to Italy

"This trip exceeded my expectations! Our team chemistry was strengthened even more and this will pay dividends during our season."

It would be real swell, when reporting a story, if you reported all the facts – not just some of them.

Iowa has also used Basketball Travelers, as late as last year. I haven't been bothered by anything written in the Rag (other than that it is as it usually is: crap) until now. Honestly, that's freaking ridiculous and Witosky should be ashamed at that piece of drivel.
