    Glass half full

Well with Lucca leaving our defense just got a LOT better.

We also just got rid of a one dimensional player.

We will get Buckley, Scotty and Colvin some great playing time.

We can open up his scholarship to a well rounded player.

As stupid and selfish as it was for him to leave, I guess Im not as upset for losing what he brings to the court.

What does upset me is the continued questions that will follow coach Mac around about his coaching? The man is in a deep enough hole and doesnt need anything worse to help his chances of turning it arond.

Good post...Need to find a way to spread the floor without Lucca.

Let Mac handle the questions about himself and his coaching. Some jump to judge without knowing what they are talking about.

Look at it this way. If Lucca Staiger is a pro basketball talent, we have an entire team loaded with pro basketball talent. That's good, right?

I think he left now before much tape of his play made it back to Germany. Someone is getting bamboozled in the Motherland.

Since we are looking on the bright side: I wonder just how much of the chemistry issues on this team came from a player who didn't want to be here and wasn't close to anyone else on the team? Hmmm.

I thought they did a good job of spreading the floor when Scotty was in the game during crunch time at NU. There were several pick & rolls from the wing that looked really good, plus they ran some set plays to get him 3s that looked good.

he just needs to bring consistency to his game in the starting role.

I've been all about Scotty stealing some minutes from Lucca since day one. He is the ultimate glue guy, not flasy and just doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

He was in a bit of a rut going into the Nebraska game but got some quality minutes and did some nice things. I'm excited to see what he can do in a larger role. Like the OP said, we just got a lot better on the defensive end.

    Re: Glass half full

I think the added minutes will only help get Christopherson in the flow, and make him develop faster. The current lack of depth could be a blessing in disguise, as players get more used to playing with each other, and there's more minutes to go around.

I don't believe you. Nobody could have possibly read all of the other threads.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing here. It always concerned me that Lucca got more playing time than he deserved because Mac was trying to keep him happy, not wanting him to leave. That has to stop...play who gives us the best chance to win or I think you are really making yourself vulnerable as a coach.
