    Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

So what's our rotation look like for Tech?

    PG - Garrett, Buckley, Palo
    SG - Christopherson, Oliver?,
    SF - Gilstrap, Dohr
    PF - Brackins, Dendy
    C - Hamilton, Dendy

Is Oliver redshirting, and if so, any chance they pull it for the next few weeks without Colvin? Also, will they rethink Vanderbieken's RS now that they really can't afford to have Gilstrap help out in the post to give Brackins a break.

Brackins is going to have to play 38 minutes a night.

I don't think the coaches want to pull the redshirts off anyone, my guess is that Colvin will come back early.

Dendy is still the back up for all the bigs. Staiger leaving doesn't change that. It's a four man rotation for three spots.

Re: Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

DG will play 35+ minutes at the point.
SC will play 30+ minutes at the 2.
MG will play 35+ minutes at the 3.

Buck will get 15-20 minutes as the guard off the bench.

    Brackins will play 35+ minutes
    Dendy will play 25+ minutes
Big Ham will get the rest of the post minutes.

And pray no one gets in foul trouble or injured.

Re: Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

When Colvin is back I don't see this as too much of a problem. The four guards that would be left have shown an ability to play well. The bigger issue is whether we can still run a 3 guard set to give Gilstrap some bench time. Dorr hasn't really looked bad when he's in, it's just that he's played against some pretty weak teams thus far. I don't know that we can play for more than 1 or 2 minutes with him without getting exposed.

Re: Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

I don't think they should burn a redshirt or lift CC's suspension.

    PG: DG, Buck
    SG: Scotty, DG
    SF: Gilstrap,Dorr
    PF: Brackins, Dendy
    C: Ham, Dendy

I also think they'll play a 3 guard lineup as well at times when CC gets back from his suspension

    PG: Buck, CC
    SG: DG
    SG: Scotty
    PF: Brackins, Dendy
    C: Ham, Dendy

Re: Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

Wow... when I was thinking 7 players... it just seemed like more. When I look at your depth chart minus Palo, Oliver, and Dorr... 7 just is very very slim. I don't see Palo or Oliver coming off redshirt unless an in game injury occurs.

With that said, I think this team will gel in the next 24 hours and come out of TT stronger and more determined then ever. Easier to rally the troops when you only have 7 or 8 versus 11 or 12 fighting for 5 spots. Then adding Colvin back in, whether it's now or February will provide just a little depth. I fell better now then before Lucca left. I predict this to be the turning point and this team plays at or above it's potential.

Check out this box score, we can play with 6-7. In '05 we won 9/11 big XII games with 6.5 players.

I bet Dorr gets some mins. Buck will play both guard spots. I dont see why 7 or 8 with Dorr bugs everyone so much. Buck was only getting a few mins a game anyway.

Dorr really isnt that bad. Not that big, but has some nice inside moves.

Re: Moving on: Rotation for Wednesday

Well, there was a bit of praise from this board over getting Dorr in here as a walkon. I think we're going to see how good he is in the next couple of weeks.

Thankfully if Colvin is indeed back at the beginning of February, we don't face any of the high pressure defenses like Missouri before he comes back. Just sneak out wins in two of the next four without him and we're still in decent shape in the conference.

Hasn't Palo already played in some games? Maybe those were just the exhibitions, but I remember him out there for something.

I would bet we don't see Dorr in a game that is closer than 10 points, unless our bigs are in serious foul trouble or someone is injured.

I really don't get why Dorr all of a sudden becomes an issue. How often has Lucca played the 3/Gilstrap played the 2?
