My bag is still in St. Marteen

My checked bag never made it to Anguilla. Not a big thing considering my carry on had enough beach supplies to last. Only had to buy 1 shirt.

The airline is sending me a $300 check for the lost luggage. I bet the check comes before the bag.

Anguilla is a wonderful island. Shoal Beach is named one of the top10 beaches in the world, and now I know why.

Rating the islands I have visited:

    1. Hawaii (Big Island)
    2. Anguilla
    3. Antigua
    4. St. Kitts
    5. Jamaica
    6. Bahamas (Grand Bahama)
    7. Puerto Rico

Barbados is next. After that, we will focus more on the South Pacific for 4 or 5 years before heading back to the Caribbean.

This would only apply if I ever opened a Facebook account. Since I haven't, I feel the off-topic section of the only interactive board I ever visit will suffice.

I appreciate the comment though, and look forward to more in the future.

That's an impressive list; you really know how to travel!

BTW - I'm surprised at the #1 Big Island rating? I've never been, where would you recommend staying? And isn't Maui considered better: ie more tropical, better beaches, more bikinis, etc?? Why does the big isle have it all over the other Hawaiian isles?

I just got back from St. Maarten a couple weeks ago. 85 degrees and sunny, spent the day on the beach. Also went to St. Thomas, Grand Turk, and Princess Cays Bahamas. All around good trip.

So after all the airline fees for checked luggage you come out about even but lose your piece of luggage and everything in it?

I will also say that if you are an Island person a trip up the coast of Australia on the Great Barrier Reef is something you should do. The reef is just unreal. I really can't put it into words, but to mirror the "what do you want to do before you die" thread, I think everybody should get to the reef unless you are afraid of open water.

Bora Bora is my dream vacation! I talked to my travel agent and she said to wait awhile so I could take a week and a half trip. It's a loooong flight but looks well worth it!!!

We flew Delta with 1 checked bagged per person(no fee), then switched to AA from Miami to St. Marteen. (Due to weather in Atlanta, we missed our flight from Atlanta to St. Marteen). Just got off the phone with AA central bag control, and my bag is shipping back to Iowa today. So I get $300 plus my bags back.
