Is this not what we wanted?

Last year CB would drop 28 points and we would lose. A lot of people complained that if we had someone else to do some scoring we would win those games. Last night CB played really bad offensively but Gilstrap played well and we won. Now we have people complaining that Gilstrap needs to realize his role. Some people just dont make any sense to me.

Those people don't know what they are talking about...Gilstrap is doing his role better than anyone on the team right now...the guy is a man among boys on the court.

    Basketball is a team game.

I like that we have scoring options, makes the defense have to play us better.

Brackins will come around, when they start to try and stop Gilstrap more.

Great point. It's actually pretty encouraging that we won in spite of Craig having that poor a night.

Re: Is this not what we wanted?

It wasn't that Brackins had a bad night, Nebrsaka was not going to let him beat them and made ISU's other players beat them. There is more to the game than scoring, Brackins had a good game distributing the ball out of double teams, rebounded well, and played good defense. That is what good players do. Gilstrap is making teams pay for concentrating their efforts on stopping Brackins.

Re: Is this not what we wanted?

Brackins (and ISU fans) want and need a guy like Gilstrap. Eventually teams will have to decide which guy to take away, leaving them vulnerable to the other option.

Re: Is this not what we wanted?

My only problem with the game was FT shooting, ugh, we need to get better with those. This year is what we asked for, Gilstrap/Dendy/Ham taking pressure of CB to hafta score everytime.

Re: Is this not what we wanted?

I thought about starting a thead like this earlier today. CB has more options to go to now than just muscling it in or fading away. If Gilstrap keeps it up and Lucca can keep scoring 14 a night it will open up more for him. People just want to win and will find fault which ever way they can. The FT shooting is horrible and hopefully they will get that turned around soon. Awful late in the season to expect it but one can hope cant they.

Your post makes sense when common sense prevails. Unfortunately however, we have a growing number of posters on this site who would rather ***** about some player(coach) who isn't playing(coaching) exactly like said poster thinks they should be playing(coaching).

Your post is spot on by the way.
