    Brackins draft stock dropping?

Just opened my ESPN rag and in the college basketball column I see Doug Gotlieb passing along some remarks on CB -

" NBA evaluators are now seeing the 6'qo" junior forward as a tweener "

" "He's wildly overrated" says one scout"

I'm not so sure I agree. I think the problems in the last two games stem from his teammates sometimes forgetting he is on the court. I was so disappointed to see how few touches he got in the 2nd half Wednesday. If they are not going to try and run more offense his way I think you will see him drop in the draft. Thoughts?

    Re: Brackins draft stock dropping?

I think why some people are "disappointed" in his performance is the fact that his numbers are down because of Gilstrap taking some of the scoring off of Brackins hands. Gilstrap has also improved a lot since the beginning of the season.

Brackins has not been overly impressive this season.

Why wouldnt it? It is not like he has wowed scouts the past few games or really this season. Last yeat at this time we were saying he wasnt ready for the draft, and look what happened.

    Re: Brackins draft stock dropping?

His stock might be falling, but he does have legit NBA talent. He might not be banging down low in the NBA, but he has a good jump shot and even three point shot. He needs to work on movement defense and his toughness down low.

He has more around him this year, and has not done as well also because he gets double and triple teamed almost every game. He still had almost 20 points against Texas. I don't know if I'd call that horrible. Most people would say "wow yeah, pretty good he had 18 against texas even though three of his other teammates were in double figures too." Sure, he's not doing as well as last year so far, but he's seeing more defense around him and to write him off would be foolish IMO.

He will be fine. If he got the ball in the right place consistently, his stats would be better, and anyone can see that he's a more complete player this year.

Brackins needs to and I hope Gilstrap is able to. I'll agree CB is overrated. Hope he proves me wrong.

This is something the announcers were giving **** to almost literally to ISU's guys during the Texas game. Literally they were almost ****** off craig had one touch in the 2nd half with 6 minutes left and i swear almost called our players idiots for it. Which, I totally agree

They have to get Craig the ball more, there is no doubt about that. McD has got to get in some guys ears and make them understand their role on this team.

    Re: Brackins draft stock dropping?

Hopefully Brackins is reading these evaluations and is driven to become more physical. He needs to have a game soon that he muscles himself into the paint, with no fear of contact or fouls. He needs to unleash himself.

    Re: Brackins draft stock dropping?

The NBA scouts are not all that concerned with Brackins' scoring average. They want to see him play really tough defense, rebound consistently with authority, and seamlessly fit into the flow of the team offense. They already know that he can create points if one side of floor is cleared out and he can go one on one. That, unfortunately for Brackins, is a luxury only given to superstars in the NBA.

    Re: Brackins draft stock dropping?

As I've said before, Craig would be a beast if he could develop his footwork, and take the ball to the rack more often instead of fading away so often.
