Cyclone Football: All things offensive line

Here you go football Fanatics. This is the start of our 2009 football review/spring football look ahead here at CycloneFanatic.com. Here is the interview I recently conducted with Iowa State's offensive line coach Bill Bleil.

He gives some great insight and helps shape what the unit might look like next season.

    Enjoy.

    Awesome Q&A.

We got a great teacher and coach in Coach Bleil. He had a lot of confidence in the offensive line this year and it looks like he feels the same about next year.

Didn't have any info on the Juco coming in (Caspers I think). I hope to see him come in and be able to compete for one of those positions right away.

Nice interview Chris. It sure seems like the line will be a strength (or at least not a weakness) for the next couple of years.

Great article, Chris. Just a couple years ago the line was the big question mark for ISU but now it looks like a strength for the next few years.

That was a great interview. Bleil is interesting to listen to.

I guess he might like Brayden Burris a little bit...

Re: Cyclone Football: All things offensive line

so if i read that correctly the 1 deeps will be:

    LT-KO
    LG-Alvarez
    C-Lamaak
    RG-Haughton
    RT-Burris

this leaves Hicks, Baysinger, Caspers, Spears, Smith, Tuftee and Bykowski among others fighting for 2 deeps. i'm ok with that.

I'm gonna guess that Lichtenberg might have a say in the 2-deeps as well. I think he traveled to all games, but they kept the Redshirt on him.

Did anyone else have a "That's What She Said" moment when Bill talked about the carpet matching the curtains? I did a couple of double takes when I saw that.
