Blalock and Stinson's Journey after ISU

Sorry if this is posted, but I didn't see it.

Interesting article from The Daily yesterday detailing Blalock and Stinson's quest to get into the NBA since they left the team to go pro in 2005. Two of my favorite players from my undergrad days.

Re: Blalock and Stinson's Journey after ISU

    Great article.

I'm afraid this might open up a can of worms, but Stinson and Blalock are easily two of my favorite ISU basketball players of all time and I'm proud they are a part of ISU. I only wish we had more players like them on our team now.

Love Stinson. Probably my favorite player of all time.

GMan- My sentiments exactly. They were two tough competitors that played good defense and were fearless on offense, especially Curtis. I'll always remember the highlight slams from Stinson to Blaylock to Clark, the tournament wins, and huge victories they were a big part of.

That was a good read. Hopefully one or both of them will get the big call up soon. I enjoyed watching them play together.

Hard to find a dynamic duo like them. Lightning rarely strikes twice.

I loved how they could CLOSE. You can't coach it. Some guys just have that ability.

Re: Blalock and Stinson's Journey after ISU

So first Stinson says that he's "happy to be in Des Moines to see his son grow up," but then in the next breath says that "Europe will always be an option, it's not a bad place to play."
Wow, sounds like fatherhood is really important to him...

He could probably make a lot more money in Europe. Thus being able to support his child better. So maybe fatherhood IS really important to him.

Sorry, not buying that at all. There are plenty of jobs around here for someone like Curtis and his name recgonition. You know, that way he could help raise his kid. Of course, it wouldn't involve playing basketball...

It's crazy how many details you can decide on your own while having pretty much no facts to back that up. Go ahead and condemn the man as a father though.

Re: Blalock and Stinson's Journey after ISU

Stinson is a basketball player and their careers don't last very long. He needs to make as much money as he can for the future, so if he can make a lot more money going overseas, more power to him, but Coach Nurse would sure hate to see him go, from his interviews he loves the guy. I would hope Curtis can continue to be a part of his son's live. I've met young Curtis and he's going to be a big kid and likely loaded with athletic ability. We could see him in sports at Ankeny and ISU some day.

Father is Curtis Stinson and Aunt is Nicki Wieben -- good basketball genes. GMac should be working to get a verbal from Curtis Jr..
