    Re: 2009 Football Survey

I love the first game being on Thursday night. It also allows Fall Practice to begin 2 days earlier and gives us 2 more days of prep time for Week #2 which will be the EIU game again this year.

    Re: 2009 Football Survey

I would love having a Thursday night game during conference as well simply for the national exposer. I think that should probably be done for a game that likely won't get on TV otherwise, something like Kansas.

Great survey...I wonder how many will make game day experience comments about Jeff Johnson or Sweet Caroline

I voted the same way you two did on these issues. I can appreciate the hassle it is for other people to show up on a Thursday night, but I like it. I take the Friday off and have a long weekend.

That being said, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the game was on Saturday (during the day say at 1) instead of Thursday night.

Well, count me as 1. I suggested a number of things, that being one of them.

I'd be psyched for some Thursday night conference games. It'd be a b**** with work, but worth the sacrifice.

    Re: 2009 Football Survey

I'm definitely up for a Thursday night conference game.

However, if we do that, opening kick off should be on a saturday. Two thursday games is two much.

I wonder if a conference game could potentially move for the 2010 season to thursday if the results of this survey are favorable. How many people on here think that could happen?

As long as there is not more than one conference game moved to a Thursday night, to play on ESPN/ESPN2, it seems like an easy decision to me, which would be good money. I also support the Thursday night opener due to the holiday in addition to the Thursday night conference game and said so in my survey. I also spoke about the upgrades to the end zone, speakers and video board. Then I also only gave the game day experience a "good" rating when compared to other stadiums that have fans being vocal and standing throughout the game.
